Good Governance: Uviejitobor Predicts Brighter Future For Younger Generations In Delta As Union of Udu Youths Visits

The Delta State Commissioner for Oil and Gas, Hon (Chief) Peter Uviejitobor, has predicted greater and brighter future for youths across the three senatorial districts of the state under Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori’s led administration.

Hon Uviejitobor who stated this at the weekend when he played host to a delegation of the Union of Udu Youths (aka Ukoko Ighele r’ Udu) in Udu local government area of the state, said the MORE agenda of Governor Oborevwori captured several youths related empowerment programmes.

Uviejitobor who represented Udu State Constituency from 2015 to 2023 in the Delta State House of Assembly, stated that the state government will continue to introduce policies and programmes that would support the younger generations achieve their goals in life.

The Oil and Gas Commissioner assured the delegation of Ukoko Ighele r’ Udu, that the youths of Udu kingdom can never be neglected in the scheme of things or denied their rights, even as he urged them to sustain their support for the Rt Hon Oborevwori’s government.

Hon Uviejitobor also commended the enduring peace and tranquility in Udu, disclosing that the Ministry of Oil and Gas will continue to partner with relevant stakeholders to foster sustainable peace and development in host communities of oil and gas in the state.

The two term Lawmaker and former Special Adviser to the Governor on Government Affairs, expressed optimism that the peaceful co-existence between oil bearing communities and companies operating in Delta State will be enduring as the state is determined to maintaining a prominent role in global economic growth and development.

He as his visitors that he would remain a good ambassador of Udu constituency.

The Ukoko Ighele r’ Udu, said they were in the residence of Hon Uviejitobor to congratulate him on appointment as Commissioner for Oil and Gas by His Excellency, Rt. Hon. (Elder) Sheriff F.O. Oborevwori (JP), Governor of Delta State.

The Udu Youths group led by Comrade Igho Onobrakpeyan stated that the news of the appointment and subsequent swearing-in into office, were received with great joy and expressed confidence that the political elevation will bring forth good tidings to Udu local government area.

The group handed over a congratulatory message that contained their feelings to Hon Uviejitobor.

The statement signed by Comrade Igho Onobrakpeyan and Barr Uwarah Helen, President and Secretary-General respectively reads, “We, the Executive members of Ighele -Udu, on behalf of the entire Ighele-Udu congratulate you on your well deserved appointment as the Commissioner for Oil and Gas, Delta State by the Executive Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. (Chief) Sheriff F.O. Oborevwori.

“Your appointment did not come to us as a surprise but as an answer to prayer for the recognition of the Udu people’s ability to contribute meaningfully to the development of both national and state affairs.

“We therefore use this opportunity to thank and appreciate Gov. Oborevwori for his interest and ability to recognise potentials and capacities and we specially thank him for recognizing such potentials and capacity in Udu”.

The Ighele-Udu youth described the appointment of Hon Uviejitobor as a square peg in a square hole and assured of their support.
