Delta Deputy Speaker Akpowowo Commends Oborevwori For Keeping Faith With His Social Contract With Deltans

Deputy Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt Hon (Olorogun) Arthur Akpowowo has commended Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for keeping faith with his social contract with Deltans.

Rt Hon Akpowowo gave the commendation on the floor of the Hallowed Chamber of the State Assembly, immediately after the presentation of the Delta State Appropriations Bill for the 2025 fiscal year by the Governor Oborevwori during Thursday’s plenary of the House.

The Deputy Speaker in his remarks before a motion to express immense gratitude on behalf of the State Legislature to the Governor for the Budget presentation, explained that the MORE agenda of Rt Hon Oborevwori has made expected impacts in the lives of the state and its people.

He said, “Your Excellency, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori had a social contract with Deltans when he promised to do more during his electioneering campaigns.

“The promises were encapsulated in his MORE agenda which stand for Meaningful Development, Opportunity for All, Realistic Reforms and Enhanced Peace and security.

“Your Excellency, by the assessment of this Honourable House, by the assessment of my Constituents of Ethiope East and by the assessment of Deltans, you have done very well.

“While we hope that he is going to do more, I therefore express thanks to His Excellency, Rt Hon (Elder) Sheriff Oborevwori, Governor of Delta State for the presentation of year 2025 Appropriation bill, I so move”, Akpowowo stated.

The motion which was seconded by the Member Representing Ndokwa West, Hon. Charles Emetulu, was unanimously adopted.
