The organiser of this year’s African Cultural Fashion Awards ACFA, Africulfash, has said arrangement has been concluded for the participation of the iconic Ethiopian designer, Rahel Edegilign with a brand name, Rahale.
Amb. Judith Shu’aibu, Chief of Operations, Africulfash and Event Coordinator African Cultural Fashion Awards (ACFA), disclosed in a statement that Edegilign will also received most Ethical and Sustainable fashion brand of the Year Award.
The event which holds on 1st December, 2024 at Maha Marquee Event Centre, Abuja, has as it theme: “Empowerment through Threads: Uniting for Sustainable Development” has also been endorsed by the National Council for Arts and Culture (NCAC).
It is expected to advance the course of poverty eradication, serve as a beacon of hope, unity, and innovation, demonstrating the transformative power of fashion in advancing sustainable development and creating opportunities for prosperity within African communities.
Rahel Edegilign is the founder and creative director Rahela, a fashion and apparel brand with a vision of Pan Africanism and sustainability by using zero waste pattern making.
Other personalities gracing the event includes; Ethiopian Ambassador and the Esayas Gotta Seifu Ambassador and Head of missions, Tsholo Dikobe, ACFA 2024’s Creative Director, CNN’s fashion trail blazer from Botswana.
