DOPF Lecture: Delta Speaker Guwor Advocates Collective Actions For Safer And More Prosperous State

Speaker, Delta State House of Assembly and National Treasurer, Conference of Speakers of State Houses of Assembly in Nigeria, Rt Hon Emomotimi Dennis Guwor, has advocated collective actions for a safer and more prosperous Delta State.

Rt Hon Guwor made the call in his goodwill message on the occasion of the 5th lecture series of the Delta Online Publishers Forum, DOPF, held in Asaba, the state capital.

The Speaker who was represented at the event by his Chief Press Secretary, CPS, Mr Nkem Nwaeke, described the theme of the lecture, “Security Challenges: Finding A Local Implementable Solution” as timely as it resonates deeply with the aspirations of the state government.

He said “as you gather to deliberate on this critical issue, I commend your commitment to promoting informed discourse and seeking solutions to our state’s challenges. Your efforts are invaluable in shaping public opinion and influencing policy decisions.

“The Delta State House of Assembly remains dedicated to supporting initiatives that prioritize the security and well-being of our citizens. We acknowledge the importance of collaborative efforts between government, media, and civil society in addressing security challenges”.

Rt Hon Guwor who represents Warri South West Constituency in the House and a Guest of Honour at the event, urged the organizers to leverage on the platform to proffer actionable recommendations that will add values to the legislative agenda of the State Legislature which was launched during the 1st anniversary of the 8th Assembly by Governor Sheriff Oborevwori.

He noted that their expertise and insights are crucial in helping to develop effective solutions to security challenges.

The Speaker congratulated the Emmanuel Enebeli led DOPF for being a strong partner in the development of the state.

“Once again, on behalf of the Delta State House of Assembly, I extend warm greetings and congratulations on this milestone event. I wish you fruitful deliberations and look forward to the outcomes of your discussions”, Rt Hon Guwor stated.

Delta State Governor, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori was represented by the Commissioner for Information, Dr Michael Osuoza at the ceremony, chaired by Chief Emma Ogidi, a Fellow of Nigeria Institute of Public Relations, NIPR.

The Force Public Relations Officer, Nigeria Police Force Headquarters, Abuja, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, was the Guest Speaker at the lecture, which also featured panel discussion, moderated by a University Don, Prof Kemi Emina.
