State Universal Basic Education Board Subeb, has offered thanksgiving to God to appreciate His love and goodness.
The thanksgiving Service was held at the premises of SUBEB in Asaba.
The Chairman of the board, Hon Samuel Mariere said the board is grateful to God for a successful year with a lot of recorded achievements.
Hon Mariere disclosed that upon assumption of office by the present board they decided to build an alter for God in Subeb office at Asaba where management and staff pray every working day from 8am to 9am for positive development in the state’s primary education system.
Flanked by the Permanent Secretary, Mr Bryan Unini and other board members, Mariere emphasized that without God nothing can be achieved, saying when he came in as the board chairman a lot of things lacking in the office have been restored.
He thanked the State Governor, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori for all the approvals, adding that the board was able to achieve so much within a year as a result of funds made available for its operations by the Governor.
Hon Mariere acknowledged the new look and conducive atmosphere for workers to perform their duties, stressing that the presence of God has turned the board around positively.
Appreciating the pastors and staff who always make out time to pray everyday before commencement of work, the Subeb Boss emphasizing that the government listen to the board more because of God’s favour.
Mariere further acknowledged the increase in enrollment in pupils in public schools in the state, thanked God that the year is ending on good notes.
He noted that for the first time since the Subeb was established, the board was able to come up with a development document plan that would run till 2027.
In a sermon, Venerable Emmanuel Afamefuna, said it was good to give thanks to God as the benefits are enormous, even as he commended Hon Mariere for always seeking the face of God in his activities.
High point of the occasion was dancing and Thanksgiving offerings led by the SUBEB Chairman.
