Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Guwor, Tuesday afternoon led Principal Officers to the office of the Deputy Speaker, Rt Hon Arthur Akpowowo to celebrate with him on his 53rd birth anniversary.
Also on hand for the joyous moments were some other Lawmakers of the State Legislature, the Clerk of the Assembly, Mr Otto Aghoghophia, the three Deputy Clerks of the House, Mrs Isioma Nwabuokwu, Mr Dogboaeme Olorogun and Sm
art Edogie and Chief Press Secretary to the Speaker, Mr Nkem Nwaeke.
The Speaker who was visibly happy with his Deputy for the celebration of a new age, again expressed his heartfelt congratulations to Rt Hon Akpowowo and prayed to God to keep protecting him in years to come.
Rt Hon Guwor commended the wife of the Deputy Speaker, Chief (Mrs) Francisca Arthur-Akpowowo for the surprised birthday package put together for her husband to celebrate the special day with colleagues in the office.
The Speaker wished his Deputy many more years of service, wisdom, and joy, stressing “May this new chapter bring you continued success and fulfillment”.
The Deputy Speaker, Arthur Akpowowo, filled with surprises said “I am overwhelmed with emotion and gratitude. I didn’t expect this surprise, and i am truly humbled by the kindness of Mr Speaker and all my colleagues.
“Thank you, Mr. Speaker, and everyone who made this day so special, including my dear wife, Chief Mrs Barrister Francisca Arthur-Akpowowo who always come up with surprises.
“I am committed to continuing our collective efforts to serve Delta State with dedication and integrity”, Akpowowo stated.
