Sustainable Grassroots Development: Ekpemupolo Harps On Unity Among Councillors In Delta

The 7 Member Executive of the Delta State Local Government Councils Legislative Leaders’ Forum has embarked on visits to the 25 local government councils in the state to familiarize themselves with the Councillors and mobilize support for sustainable grassroots development.

The State Coordinator of the Forum and Leader Warri South West Legislative Arm, Rt Hon Samuel Ekpemupolo and his team at the start of the familiarization tour, were at the legislative chambers of the nine local government councils in Delta North senatorial district, including Aniocha North and South, Ika North East and South, Oshimili North and South, Ndokwa East and West and Ukwuani.

Addressing colleagues in the various councils, Ekpemupolo said meeting the Councillors face to face was paramount to the leadership of the forum and stressed the importance of unity among members to achieve meaningful results.

He noted that the Legislative arm of local government has key role to play in promoting good governance and impactful development in the state, maintaining that with unity of purpose, championing a common vision would be much easier for the forum.

Ekpemupolo acknowledged the fact that there must be synergy among the various legislative arms of the councils for the forum to make to make progress in achieving desired goals.

“Fellow councillors, I extend warm felicitations to you all as we continue to work together for the progress and development of our great state, Delta.

“As we strive to deliver on our mandates having duly elected to represent our people at the grassroots, let us remain committed to principles of transparency, accountability and effective representation.

“Our constituents are counting on us to make positive impact in their lives”, Ekpemupolo stated.

The State Coordinator and Leader Warri South West, urged the various legislative arms to continue to collaborate with their respective local government chairmen and other stakeholders to drive growth and development.

Ekpemupolo thanked the Councillors for their tireless efforts to entrenching good governance in the councils, even as he enjoined them to continue to work together for a better Delta State.

The Leaders of the legislative arms of the nine local government councils visited, pledged support and commitment towards peace, unity and prosperity in their respective domains.

They appreciated Leadership of the Forum for the familiarization visit to the various local governments as well as mobilize support for good governance and progress at the grassroots.

The State Coordinator was accompanied by the Secretary of the forum and Leader Oshimili South, Hon Michael Okonji, the Public Relations Officer and Leader, Isoko South, Olokor Friday Abizire as well as Treasurer and Leader Ethiope East, Emmanuel Emojeya.

Others include the Delta North Coordinator and Leader Ika North East, Dikenwosi Eric, Delta South Coordinator and Leader Warri South, Joy Nomeme Ejumudo and Delta Central Coordinator and Leader Uvwie Legislative Arm, Rire Okejera Uruesheyi.

The visit to other senatorial districts continues.
