The Majority Whip of the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon (Barr.) Bernard Odior, has commended the speedy passage of the College of Health Technology, Ovrode, Establishment bill.
Hon Odior who represents Isoko North in the Assembly described the Bill which was read the third time and passed at Tuesday’s plenary of the House, presided over by the Speaker, Rt Hon Emomotimi Guwor, as apt and timely to the development strides in his Constituency.
The Lawmaker in a statement after the plenary, expressed happiness that the legislative process to the making of the proposed law ended in less than three months it was sent to the House by the State Governor, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori for consideration.
Hon Odior pointed out that the quality and integrity of provisions in the Bill were highlighted during its second reading which enjoyed unanimous support from all the members of the House.
He stressed that the proposed College of Health Technology, Ovrode, when established will have several positive impacts on Deltans, particularly the host community and environs.
The Majority Whip paid glowing tribute to the State Governor, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori and members of the State Executive Council for the choice of Ovrode, a community in Isoko North where he represents, for establishment of the College.
Hon Odior commended the Speaker and members of the State Assembly for ensuring that the bill, now waiting for the assent of the Governor was given accelerated legislative process and passed in record time.
The Lawmaker expressed hope for the early assent to the bill by the Governor as the College when established will advance socio-economic and social development in his Constituency.

“I want to also use this opportunity to thank my colleagues, particularly the Speaker for the speedy legislative attention accorded the bill that led to its third reading and passage today, Tuesday 11th February 2025”, Odior stated.
The Isoko North Lawmaker expressed optimism for more positive narratives in Isoko North.
