The Erhuvwu Club of Asaba, at its 2024 end-of-year celebration, bestowed a special award upon Mr. Festus Ohwojero, on his appointment as the Director General of the Delta State Sports Commission.
The event, held at the Stephen Keshi International Stadium, VIP lounge , on Sunday 2nd of March, 2025 , was a testament to the club’s commitment to recognizing individuals who have made significant contributions to the growth and development of the club, and to the Urhobo Nation at large.
The award, which was presented by the Erhuvwu Club President, Sir. David Onokpe to Mr. Ohwojero amidst a flurry of applause and cheers, was a symbol of the club’s admiration for his dedication to the club, sports development and his leadership in promoting a vibrant sporting culture in Delta State.
According to the club president, he expressed confidence that Mr. Ohwojero’s appointment, has brought a new era of progress for sports in Delta State.
The celebration, which was well attended by prominent members of the club, including the former Head of service, Sir Paul Evuarherhe showcases the club’s spirit, its commitment and provided a platform to acknowledge the achievements of individuals like Mr. Ohwojero, who have played a vital role in shaping the sporting landscape of Delta State.
The award presented to Mr. Ohwojero serves as a testament to this commitment to the club and a symbol of hope for the future of sports in Delta State.
Responding, the ever smiling Festus Ohwojero gave thanks to God Almighty who made everything possible, and commended the club for the recognition bestowed on him and his family.
