Ohwojero Receives Outstanding Service Award from UDU, Asaba Branch

The Delta State Sports Commission Director General, Mr. Festus Ohwojero, was recognized for his outstanding service and dedication to the state with a prestigious award from the Ughelli Descendants Union Asaba branch.

The award, which was presented by The Asaba Branch President Mr. Friday Enakeke on Wednesday 12th March, 2025, at the Delta State Sports Commission, acknowledged Ohwojero’s significant contributions to both the sports sector and the state’s civil service.

Mr. Enakeke , together with members of Union highlighted Ohwojero’s leadership in fostering a vibrant sports environment in Delta State, citing his commitment to developing young athletes and promoting sports development across the state. His dedication to the state’s civil service was also commended, with Mr. Enakeke praising his exemplary work ethic and unwavering commitment to serving the people of Delta State.

The award, a testament to Ohwojero’s impactful contributions, serves as a powerful symbol of appreciation for his dedication to public service and his unwavering commitment to excellence.

Speaking after receiving the award, Mr. Festus Ohwojero expressed deep gratitude to the UDU Asaba Branch for recognizing his efforts and finding him worthy of the honor.

He extended his profound appreciation to His Excellency Rt Hon Elder Sheriff Oborevwori, Governor of Delta State, for the opportunity to serve as Director General of Delta State Sports Commission.

While also attributed his achievements to the strong support and encouragement he received from the Delta State Sports Commission Chairman, Mr. Onoriode Oborevwori, and highlighted the chairman’s invaluable guidance

“I am truly humbled by this award,” Ohwojero stated. “It is a testament to the hard work and dedication of the entire team at the Delta State Sports Commission. I am grateful to the UDU Asaba branch for recognizing my contributions.” He emphasized his commitment to continue working diligently to advance the state’s sports sector and contribute to the overall development of Delta State.
