Capacity Building: Ebireri Promises State Assembly a Results-Oriented Workforce

Delta State House of Assembly Service Commission, has pledged optimal legislative service delivery to the state.

Executive Chairman of the Commission, Mr Sunday Ebrieri gave the assurance while declaring open a refresher course for middle management staff of the State Legislature who are due for promotion in 2025.

Mr Ebireri at the flag off of the training programme, held at Professor Chike Edozie Secretariat complex in Asaba, explained that to achieve the set goal, capacity development through training and retraining of staff would remain a top priority of the Service Commission.

He pointed out that the refresher course would further enhance efficiency among participants, stressing that effective and competence workforce will promote productivity in the state legislature.

Mr Ebireri said the MORE Agenda of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori perfectly captured manpower development, adding that the capacity building was in line with the development policies of the state government.

The Executive Chairman emphasized that the Commission was determined to produce a more focused workforce to support Lawmakers in the Delta State House of Assembly in their constitutional responsibilities to Deltans.

He urged the participants to ensure they put to good use knowledge acquired when they return to their various duty posts.

Mr Ebireri assured that together with other members, the Commission would continue to build a well groomed bureaucracy that will guarantee seamless lawmaking practices and legislative procedures in the state.

The Executive Chairman paid glowing tributes to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and the Speaker, Rt Hon Emomotimi Dennis Guwor, for approving and funding the training programme.

The lead facilitator of the capacity building programme, Mr Afolabi Adun assured robust and resourceful lectures, even as he called on participants to take full advantage of the training.

Some participants interviewed expressed appreciation to the state governor, the Speaker of the State Assembly and the Chairman and members of the House of Assembly Service Commission for the training exercise.
