Speaker, Delta State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Emomotimi Dennis Guwor has hailed the flagged off of construction of 17.5km dual carriage access road to the 2nd Niger bridge by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
According to the Speaker, the access road when completed, will ease vehicular movement in and out Delta from the Asaba end of the state.
Rt Hon Guwor who is the National Treasurer, Conference of Speakers of State Houses of Assembly in Nigeria, said the historic event marks a significant milestone in strengthening the socio-economic ties between the Delta State and states in the South East.
The Speaker commended the federal government for the access road, which will undoubtedly boost economic growth, improve transportation, and enhance the quality of life for citizens.
He particularly thanked President Bola Ahmed Tinubu who was represented by Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for the physical infrastructure, saying that he was thrilled to be physically involved in the flagged off of the project.
Guwor in a statement made available to newsmen by his Chief Press Secretary, CPS, Nkem Nwaeke, acknowledged the potential benefits of increased trade, commerce, and tourism between Delta and Anambra states.
The Speaker stated that government’s investment in infrastructure will promote positive impact on the local economy, and commended Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for his commitment in that regard.
He said, “the flag off of the access road to the 2nd Niger bridge marked the beginning of a new era of connectivity and cooperation between Delta and sister states in the southeast, particularly Anambra.
“I commend the federal government for the vision and commitment to infrastructure development, which will undoubtedly drive economic growth and improve the lives of citizens.
“His Excellency, Rt Hon Sheriff F.O. Oborevwori, Governor of Delta State, who incidentally represented Mr President at the flag off ceremony has shown so much strength in physical infrastructural development through his MORE agenda.
“Deltans are happy with him and all of us at the Delta State House of Assembly will continue to support him in his strides for a greater Delta state in line with his MORE mantra”, Guwor stated.
