Critical Stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Delta South Senatorial District, at the weekend, passed vote of implicit confidence in President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, endorsing both leaders for a second term in office.
The endorsement which was unanimously adopted during an enlarged APC Delta South stakeholders’ unity meeting held in Oleh, headquarters of Isoko South Local Government Area was presided over by the Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Emomotimi Guwor.
The unity gathering brought together political heavyweights in Delta South Senatorial District, converging at the senatorial level for the first time since Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s historic defection on April 28, 2025, from the People’s Democratic Party, PDP to APC.
The defection saw the entire structure of the PDP in Delta state, including the 22 elected members of the State Assembly, merged into the All Progressives Congress.
Chairman of the APC in Delta South, Comrade Austin Eribioye, who flagged off the meeting, said the session was convened to chart a new strategic path for the party, which he said has been strengthened by the alignment of major political actors under one umbrella.
He emphasized that the renewed unity between old and new APC members has positioned the party for greater impact, expressing confidence in their collective capacity to secure re-election for both President Bola Tinubu and Governor Sheriff Oborevwori.
The Senator Representing Delta South Senatorial District in the Senate, Senator Joel Onowakpo, move the motion for the endorsement of President Tinubu and Governor Oborevwori for a second term in office, seconded by Senator James Manager and unanimously adopted through a voice vote called by the Speaker of the Delta State Assembly, Rt Hon Emomotimi Dennis Guwor.
Senator Onowakpo in a brief remark before the motion of the endorsement, called on all APC members to be more united, stressing that with the decamping of the PDP to the APC in the state every form of opposition has been eliminated from the state politically arena.
The Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Emomotimi Guwor, commended the unanimously adoption of Mr President and Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for second term in office.
Guwor said the duo have proven to be worthy candidates for the party in the 2027 general elections.
Some of the party stalwarts who spoke, including Chief Idu Amadhe, Hon. Daniel Reyenieju, Chief Bernard Okumagba, Chie P.Y. Biakpara, and Prince Emmanuel Amgbaduba, echoed a common position,
describing the unity meeting as a major step that has solidified the bond between old and new members of the APC in Delta South, while strengthening the party’s grassroots structure.
They emphasized that unity remains the party’s greatest strength, noting that with all political forces now aligned, Delta South is better positioned than ever to deliver resounding victories for President Bola Tinubu and Governor Sheriff Oborevwori in 2027, aimed at ensuring continued progress at both the state and federal levels.
The Chief Policy Adviser to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, Rt Hon Funkekeme Solomon, had moved a motion for the vote of confidence on President Bola Tinubu and Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, seconded by Hon Daniel Mayuku and adopted.
He said the President and the Governor have set the country and state on the part of positive progress.
Others who spoke eloquently highlighted the many good deeds of Mr President and Governor Oborevwori and called for massive support for their reelection.
