Delta Speaker Guwor Joins Counterparts in Consultative Meeting on State Houses of Assembly Needs Assessment

The Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Dennis Guwor, participated in a consultative and validation meeting on the needs assessment report of State Houses of Assembly in Nigeria.

The meeting, held at Transcorp Hilton, Abuja, was organized by the Policy and Legal Advocacy Centre (PLAC) in partnership with the United Kingdom Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office.

Themed “Promoting Good Governance and Citizens Access,” the meeting featured presentations, plenary discussions, and goodwill messages, including that of Chairman, Conference of Speakers of State Houses of Assembly in Nigeria and Speaker of the Oyo State Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin.

Delta Speaker, Rt Hon Emomotimi Guwor who is the National Treasurer of the Conference of Speakers, commended the meeting, stating that it provided a valuable opportunity to discuss critical reform areas based on key findings from the needs assessment conducted across the 36 State Houses of Assembly in Nigeria.

He praised stakeholders’ contributions and commitment to improving the functionalities of State Houses of Assembly.

Guwor emphasized that strengthening institutional performance of State Legislatures is crucial to national development.
