Rt Hon Guwor stated this when he played host to members of the College of Former Commissioner who served under the former Governor Ifeanyi Okowa administration from 2015 to 2023.
The Speaker said Governor Sheriff Oborevwori is setting a development standard for the State that will be difficult to surpass by anyone coming after him.
He noted that Governor Oborevwori was doing excellently well in the governance of the state with landmark projects across the senatorial districts, empowerment of women and youths, stressing that Deltans were experiencing enhanced peace and security.
Guwor stated that the development benchmark of the governor was very high due to his diligence, commitment and focus on delivering on his More Agenda without compromising standards.
The Speaker affirmed that the legislature would continue to collaborate with the executive arm of government through enabling laws, oversight functions and other legislative activities that would further fast track all round development.
“The Delta State Assembly under my leadership will continue to interface with all critical stakeholders including you to ensure that more successes were achieved by our indefatigable Governor.
“This visit is to encourage us to sustain our good working relationship with His Excellency who is doing excellently well. We will continue to work together for the progress of Delta state”, the Speaker said.
Rt Hon Guwor commended members of the College of Former Commissioners who served under former Governor Ifeanyi Okowa between 2015 to 2023, adding that their contributions to the development of the state in different sectors were evident.
He urged them to continue to support Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and the leadership of the All Progressives Congress and expressed joy that some were still serving in the present administration.
Earlier, Deputy Dean of the College of Former Commissioners 2015-2023, and former Commissioner for Oil and Gas, Prince Emmanuel Amgbaduba, who spoke on behalf of the Dean, Sir Fidelis Tilije said the visit was to commend the state legislature for working harmoniously with the executive as evident in the peaceful political atmosphere and in development of the state.
He pledged the forum’s commitment to the Governor Sheriff Oborevwori administration, adding that the present administration has turned Delta into a construction site with several completed and ongoing projects across the three Senatorial districts.
Prince Amgbaduba affirmed that the group was formidable and pledged their commitment to work for the reelection of the governor in 2027.
“We served under former Governor Okowa and we did our best to uplift standards in the state. We also played major roles in the emergence of the present Governor of the State, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori and we solidly behind the MORE agenda and determined to see him to 2031”, Amgbadugba stated.
