Popular Nollywood Actor Dave Ogbeni Seeks Massive Support As TARE Movie Hits Cinema Today

Popular Nollywood actor and President of the Association of Niger Delta Movie Practitioners, Dave Ogbeni has urged film enthusiasts, particularly those from the Niger Delta Region of Nigeria, to attend en masse in support of the movie titled TARE, scheduled for release in theaters nationwide on Friday, October 24, 2025 beginning from 1pm Nigeria time to 7pm respectively.

The movie, produced by Nigerian-born actress and producer Tracy Obahor, hailing from the Niger Delta Region, highlights the plight of a young African woman from the Niger Delta while showcasing the rich cultural heritage of the people.

Ogbeni also Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of Delta State on Entertainment in a statement, implored residents and critical stakeholders of the oil-rich Niger Delta Region of Nigeria to lend massive support to creative minds, especially in the movie industry, which is a panacea for successfully promoting our culture, tradition, norms, and values, especially our language globally, which is nearing extinction by telling our original stories.

He further observed that, despite the region’s limited pool of actors, producers, and movies in theaters, Nollywood’s potential for greatness can only be realized if we unite and support one another.

He implored government representatives, corporate leaders, governors of the oil-rich Niger Delta states, traditional rulers, and the management of the Niger Delta Development Commission to extend considerable support and funding to the Association of Niger Delta Movie Practitioners. This would empower the association to create original, world-class movies that can match the standards of those produced in other regions.

The movie TARE was directed by the esteemed film director Mr. Okechukwu Oku and boasts an impressive cast including Ibinabor Fiberesima, Rex Okonzuwa, aka Baba Rex, Tracy Obahor, Jide Ekene and Nollywood screen goddess Toyin Abraham.
