The Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Dennis Guwor, has felicitated the Asagba of Asaba, His Royal Majesty Prof. Epiphany Azinge, SAN, OON, on the occasion of his 70th birthday anniversary.
In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Nkem Nwaeke, Rt. Hon. Guwor described the monarch as an extraordinary intellectual endowed with profound wisdom and a deep passion for building a better and more progressive society.
Rt Hon Guwor highlighted the Asagba’s remarkable contributions to education, peace‑building and cultural revival in just one year on the throne, noting that he is a modern‑day monarch who skillfully blends tradition with progress.
He cited the monarch’s recent lecture series, entitled “Traditional Rulers and Constitutional Governance: Towards a Blend of Modernity and Cultural Relativism”, as a testament to his intellectual legacy and commitment to nurturing a healthier society.
“The Asagba’s reign has been marked by dignity, humility and an unwavering dedication to the welfare of his people,” Guwor said.
The Speaker expressed confidence that the Asagba’s vision will continue to align with that of His Excellency, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, who is determined to transform Asaba into a capital city that proudly reflects both its rich heritage and its bright future.
Guwor also recalled the monarch’s pivotal role in promoting inter‑ethnic harmony and his support for initiatives that advance governance and development across the state.
Rt. Hon. Guwor prayed for many more years of good health, divine guidance and continued success for the Asagba, and urged the subjects and residents of the capital city to join in celebrating a king whose legacy will endure for generations.
