Former Oshimili North Council Chairman, Hon. Louis Ogugua Ndukwe, has picked holes in the allegations by a former Special Duties Commissioner in Delta, Engr. Ema Ebo’s social media allegations that there were no projects credited to him throughout his term in office
Ndukwe, reacting to online publications credited to Ebo, described them as “laughable and borne out of deliberate falsehood and a desire to please his paymaster by massaging sagging egos”.
The Oshimili North former Council Boss said, under his watch, legacy projects such as the ultramodern Okpanam market at the City Gate precincts, the biggest legislative complex as at 2021, and lock up stalls at Ukala , were built by his administration , and commissioned by then Governor Ifeanyi Okowa , represented by current Local Government Affairs Commissioner , Prince Kelly Penawou, then Special Adviser on Local Government Affairs .
Ndukwe continued by stating that as Oshimili North Council Chairman, he distributed Patrol vehicles to all the Police divisions and community vigilante outfits in the entire Oshimili North , challenging Ebo to point one Council Chairman that did better than him in service delivery during that era of economic recession and paucity of funds .
Ndukwe challenged Ebo to fact check thus: “I was the only Council Chairman who prioritized security of lives and property, which formed the fulcrum of my functions as enshrined in the constitution. We all knew, and can attest, that at a time when our people were almost unable to access their farmlands due to their being hounded by. Killer herdsmen and bandits, I rose to the occasion and did the needful and restored the confidence of my people to be able to go back to their farmlands. Ebo, did you travel out of Nigeria then? Is it not the same you, Ebo, who met me at that time I was Council Chairman under the administration of Senator Dr. Okowa at a meeting and applauded my declaratory ultimatum to those killer herdsmen, just like many of our true sons and daughters did? Except we will ascribe your laughable diatribe on me lately to memory lapse or absolute amnesia?
A livid Ndukwe , on the allegation that he was almost always away from his duties as Council Chairman , wondered how Ebo degenerated to the sorry level of outright falsehood and slander . Ndukwe said it’s on record that during his time, he was the only Council Chairman that lived in their community. “Even when l had numerous houses in Asaba, l didn’t run my term in office from Asaba. As a homeboy , l lived in Ukala my hometown , for the six years l served for two terms. Ebo and his cohorts should fact check with the attendance of JAAC meetings from the relevant place. I never missed any meeting”, stressed Ndukwe.
The former Oshimili North Council Chairman therefore assured Engr. Ebo that in the not too distant future, he (Ndukwe) will step out with his structure, which Ebo knows well, to drive home the message of non performance across the 98 wards of Delta North,
Said Ndukwe: “Ebo knows I was a brand before I emerged as Council Chairman. He knows only a brand and capacity individual can be supported by leaders of his local government to stay in office as Council Chairman, back to back. Maybe that’s why he is trying hard to denigrate me, but it’s laughable still. My stand is irretrievable, constitutional, and unapologetically valid. We as a people in Anioma will not allow a waste of our next four years in the Red Chambers come 2027. Ebo, take note”
