Women of Warri South-West Reiterate Support for Guwor, Solicit His Leadership for 2027 Elections

Women across Warri South‑West Constituency have passed vote of implicit confidence on the Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Emomotimi Dennis Guwor and formally endorsed him for another term in office.

The unanimous decision was sequel to a motion to that effect by an Ijaw lady politician and former Leader of the Warri South‑West Legislative Arm, Chief (Hon) Rose Tulu, and seconded by Mrs  Toju Ojegbe of the Itsekiri ethnic extraction.

The declaration was made on Thursday, 20th November 2025 at Ogbe‑Ijoh, headquarters of Warri South‑West local government council, during the birthday celebration of the wife of the Speaker, Mrs. Timiebi Guwor.

The women said the vote of confidence and the subsequent adoption of Rt Hon Guwor for another term, was in recognition of his continued support for women development in the constituency and numerous projects he has championed in the Constituency.

They affirmed that they stand firmly behind Rt Hon Guwor, noting that his leadership has translated into visible progress and renewed hope for the people and communities in Warri South West.

The women pledged their unalloyed loyalty to the Speaker in his commitment to providing quality representation and uplifting standard of living in the local government area, stressing that their support in the 2027 elections would be overwhelmingly.

Responding, the Speaker, Rt Hon Emomotimi Dennis Guwor, thanked the women for the vote of confidence reposed in him and assured them that he will continue to prioritize their welfare and other indigenes in the constituency.

Saying that the endorsement has further strengthened his resolve to keep delivering quality and people‑centered development projects in Warri South West, Guwor urged the constituents to remain committed to the “Renewed Hope for More” agenda of the state government.

To mark her birthday, Mrs. Timiebi Guwor launched another phase of “Timiebi Guwor Market Women Support Scheme 2025”, empowering 150 market women with non‑refundable grants to expand their small‑scale businesses.

The event attended by dignitaries across the state, including members of the State Legislature and their spouses featured various forms of entertainment and prayers as beneficiaries expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Speaker and his wife for their sustained support.
