The Orodje of Okpe Kingdom and Chairman of the Delta State Council of Traditional Rulers, His Royal Majesty, Major-General Felix Mujakperuo (rtd), Orhue I, has been celebrated across Delta State as he marks his birthday anniversary, with glowing tributes highlighting his impact on traditional leadership, peacebuilding, and community development.
Among the early well-wishers is the President of the Okpe Girl-Child Education Initiative, Dr. Biokoro Beauty Ogharen (rtd), who described the monarch as a symbol of stability and a pillar of progress whose leadership has repositioned Okpe Kingdom for greater advancement.
In her goodwill message issued on Thursday, Dr. Ogharen said the reign of Orhue I has ushered in “unprecedented development strides” across the kingdom and neighbouring communities. She noted that the monarch’s commitment to education, social cohesion and grassroots empowerment continues to inspire civic responsibility and cultural pride among the people.

Dr. Ogharen, United Nations Peace Ambassador said, the Orodje’s passion for building a progressive society reflects in the increasing attention to girl-child education, youth development, and community infrastructure, which she said has opened new opportunities for families across Okpe land.
Dr. Ogharen, Member (International Awardee) African Project Against Sucide stated that the OKPE Girl-Child Education Initiative has continued to enjoy royal support from the monarch, whose steady encouragement for educational advancement has strengthened the organisation’s reach and impact. She added that the traditional ruler’s fatherly guidance and open-door policy have helped foster partnerships aimed at improving literacy and expanding access to quality education.
“The Orodje’s leadership is rooted in wisdom, humility and genuine love for his people,” she said. “His reign has attracted peace, unity and sustained development. As we celebrate his birthday, we also celebrate the renewed sense of hope and shared identity that he brings to Okpe Kingdom.”

She expressed gratitude for the monarch’s continued support for programmes that enhance the wellbeing of girls and young women, describing him as a “trailblazer in traditional governance whose influence extends far beyond Okpe.”
Dr. Ogharen prayed for God’s continued guidance upon the Orodje, wishing him long life, good health and a peaceful reign. She added that the entire organisation joins the kingdom in celebrating a monarch “whose footprints in leadership will remain indelible.”
The birthday anniversary has also drawn felicitations from leaders, community groups and residents who acknowledge Orhue I’s contributions to harmony and inclusive development. Many described him as a custodian of heritage whose reign has strengthened the traditional institution’s role in fostering peaceful coexistence within Delta State.
As celebrations continue, the Orodje’s palace in Orerokpe remains a focal point for visitors paying homage and offering goodwill messages. For many in Okpe Kingdom, the day marks not just the birth of a king, but the celebration of a reign that has become synonymous with progress, stability and cultural pride.
