Conference Of Speakers Mourns Chamberlain Dunkwu, Aide To House Of Reps Speaker

Conference of Speakers Chairman Guwor Condoles Speaker House of Representatives Tajudeen Abbas Over Sudden Death Of His Deputy Chief Of Staff.

Chairman, Conference of Speakers of State Legislatures in Nigeria, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Dennis Guwor, has condoled with the Speaker, Federal House of Representatives, Rt Hon Tajudeen Abbas over the sudden death of his Deputy Chief of Staff, Dr Chamberlain Nnamdi Dunkwu.

The late Chamberlain Dunkwu hailed from Ute-Okpu in Ika North East local government area of Delta State, and reportedly died in the early hours of Saturday, 7th March 2026, even without prior signs of illness.

The Conference of Speakers Chairman, who is the Speaker of the Delta State Assembly, Rt Hon Emomotimi Dennis Guwor, on behalf of the 36 States Houses of Assembly in Nigeria, expressed deep sorrow over the passing of the Deputy Chief of Staff to the Speaker and commiserated with Rt Hon Tajudeen Abbas over the tragic loss.

Guwor in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Nkem Nwaeke, described the news of the demise as shocking and painful, noting that the late Deputy Chief of Staff’s commitment to duty, professionalism, and support for legislative development will be remembered by all who had the privilege of working with him.

The Speaker also commiserated with immediate family of the deceased, the Ute-Okpu community, the people of Ika North East Local Government Area and the Ika Federal Constituency, saying that late Dr Dunkwu was a great ambassador to the Ika nation.

Rt Hon Guwor prayed that God grants the family, friends, and associates of the deceased the strength to bear the irreparable loss, while also asking God to grant the departed soul eternal rest.

“I am deeply saddened by the passing of the Deputy Chief of Staff to the Speaker, House of Representatives, Dr Chamberlain Dunkwu, who hails from Ute-Okpu, Ika North East, Delta State. On behalf of the Conference of Speakers of State Legislatures of Nigeria and the Delta State House of Assembly, I extend my heartfelt condolences to the Speaker, Rt Hon Tajudeen Abbas, over the tragic death.

“My heartfelt condolences also to the immediate family of the deceased, the Ute-Okpu community, his friends and associates. This is indeed a painful loss. May the soul of Chamberlain rest in peace, and may the bereaved family find comfort in the Almighty God during this difficult time”, Guwor said.
