A Chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP and Executive Assistant on Communications to the Governor of Delta State, Dr. Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe, JP, has described as laughable and misleading the political permutation by the Deputy Senate President, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, wherein he speculated that the All Progressives Congress, APC, will take over the South-South Geopolitical Zone in 2023.
He noted that within five years, APC national government under President Muhammadu Buhari, could not fulfil any of the electioneering promises made to Nigerians, and cannot win the 2023 general elections, because Nigerians are praying fervently to see the exit of a party that brought so much excruciating pains to their lives; occasioned by bad governance and lack of political will power to tackle national security failures; Boko Haram Insurgency, unlawful killings by Fulani herders and mismanagement of the nation’s economy.
Oghenesivbe while speaking as a guest of DRTV political platform in Asaba, on Thursday April 15, posited that DSP Omo-Agege is aware that the South-South region is a no-go zone for APC, adding that the Senator representing Delta Central at the National Assembly, will not win reelection in 2023, talk less of APC winning the zone.
Okowa EAC who is a Fellow of the Civilian Institute of Democratic Administration, fcida, further asserted that the APC national government has mortgaged the future and sovereignty of Nigeria, through needless and reckless borrowings from China and several International financial institutions, and had also projected the Fulani agenda far and above our national interests wherein the nation’s unity remained threatened to a frightening proportion.
“DSP Agege, cannot be serious because his 2023 electioneering permutation is not substantiated with empirical evidence. It is common knowledge in Nigeria that APC is at the verge of total collapse. Nigeria and Nigerians have been experiencing alarming insecurity and socioeconomic stagnation in the past five years and still counting.
“Our refineries are still in comatose, pump price of fuel and electricity tariff have been increased six times within five years instead of reducing the price as promised during 2015 and 2019 electioneering campaigns by President Mohammadu Buhari. Poverty and high inflation rate are major setbacks like never before in the history of our national life.
“Nepotism, mediocrity, human rights abuses and fragrant disobedience for the rule of law became permanent in govrrnance under APC national government, as can be seen from several unlawful detentions without bail against Court orders.
“At the just concluded Isoko North State Constituency bye election in Delta State, the APC managed to score a shameful 2, 543 voters while PDP polled a staggering 29, 421 votes to emerge winner of the election. The results did not give credence to DSP Agege’s permutations, rather it made mockery of his vague assertions.
“In fact, DSP Omo-Agege is serving his last tenure in the Senate, because the good people of Delta Central has rejected the APC due to bad governance at the federal level. And if Agege decide to join the governorship race, your guess will be as good as mine. He will fail woefully to his greatest dismay.
“It is therefore an irony for a Senator that is serving his last and final tenure to boastfully allege that his convulsive party, APC, will win 2023 general elections in the South-South zone.
“PDP will return to Aso Rock in 2023, and Agege may even defect to PDP when the cookies crumbles.
“It is therefore laughable and misleading for DSP Omo-Agege to make such vague, unrealistic and bourgeois statement or political permutation, knowing fully well that APC is seen by majority of Nigerians as the chronic cancer disease eating up the soul of Nigeria,” Oghenesivbe added.
