2023: Delta Councillor Ozah Urges Ndokwa Neku Union To Negotiate Interests

The councillor representing ward 7, Ndokwa West LGA, Hon. Barth Inneh Ozah has called on the Ndokwa Neku Union NNU, and the political leaders in the area to urgently convey a meeting where they will articulate their interests and make it known as 2023 general elections draw closer.

Ozah who spoke to newsmen in his office at kwale said, it is imperative that the Ndokwa people make their position known on time regarding their political future especially now that consultations are on for the 2023 general elections.

He argued that the Ndokwa people should choose between running for the Delta North senatorial seat or opt for the position of a deputy governor warning that if they are not firm and focus regarding their interest they may loose out in the unfolding political power play ahead of the general elections.

“I think it is important for the NNU, to wake up and emulate it counterparts like Isoko Development Union, Urhobo Progress Union who are already championing a cause for their people. Today, IDU has made it clear that they want the Delta south senatorial seat while the UPU is demanding the governorship seat. It is within their rights to do so and they are working together with their political class.

“By making your position known those seeking your support will then negotiate with you. This is the way to go and I am appealing to NNU to rise up to the challenges of leading Ndokwa people. You must fight for power or negotiate for power with your strengths.”

The councillor equally called on NNU to be active in engaging the government at all levels on issues of development of Ndokwa land.

He however appealed to the eligible voters who are yet to get the Permanent Voters Cards to ensure they are registered with the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC to enable them cast their votes in the forthcoming general elections.
