The Permanent Secretary, Delta State Government House and Protocol, Sir Edwin-Ogidi Gbegbaje has called on Nigerian youths to take seriously the task of rebuilding Nigeria which will be model for other African countries to emulate.
Mr Gbegbaje made this statement in Asaba on Thursday, 17th February, when he received Chairman and members of the local organising committee of the South-South PDP Youth Leaders Summit in Asaba on a courtesy call and charged them to contribute their best towards reshaping the politics of the country because they have the population.
“It is only the youths that can rebuild Nigeria because the future of this country belongs them and it is important for young people to come together and discuss their future and proffer solutions to some of the problems facing the Nigerian state.
“We all know that the youths make up a greater population and this population can be used to transform the electoral process by ensuring that they mobilise massively and vote for themselves in elections so that they can decide their own future.
He further advised youths to always canvas and advocate for the right policies of government and not to the carried away by what they see on social media.
Speaking on behalf of the delegation,
Chairman of the local organising committee of the South-South PDP Youth Leaders Summit, Amb Uyero Erarawewho Jnr said they are mobilising and sensitising the youths on the ‘Rescue Mission’, stating that the Summit is geared towards providing a platform for youths to sit down together and share ideas on how to return Nigeria back to its glorious years.
He also commended the Permanent Secretary for his immense contribution to the public service and promised to take the message of active youth participation in politics and governance.
