The Ndokwa West Legislative Arm has elected the first female Deputy Leader of the House, Chief (Mrs.) Kate Okoh Onah during Thursday plenary.
Her election and subsequent swearing in as the new Deputy Leader of Ndokwa West Legislative Arm followed the removal of former Deputy leader, Hon. Azubuike Ejechi who is currently serving a three month suspension.
Mrs. Onah who incidentally became the first female Deputy Leader of Ndokwa West Legislative Arm was unanimously adopted as there was no vacuum in leadership during Matters of Urgent Importance.
The Councillors in a resolution equally called on the federal government to as a matter of urgency addressed the lingering issue of fuel scarcity that is currently escalating the suffering of Nigerians.
The Councillors noted with dissatisfaction the price increments that have already trailed the fuel scarcity calling on FG to tackle the challenges by ensuring the availability of petrol and kerosene to the citizens.
Also, during Matters of Urgent Public Importance, the Legislative Arm called on the state government to employ more teachers as virtually all primary schools in the area are lacking on teachers.
The House observed that the spate of crimes and other vices in the country will be reduced if the government can repositioned education at the primary school level which was described as the foundation of any successful individuals who build the society.
