Delta State Chairman of Social Democratic Party, SDP, Mr Oke Idawene, has said the party was being repositioned to enable credible Nigerians the opportunity to run for various offices in the 2023 general elections particularly in state.
Adding that the party was poised to take over power from the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, and the All Progressives Congress, APC, at the state and national level respectively.
Idawene in press state made available to journalists in Asaba, maintained that the party was also re-strategizing to win the Delta State governorship election in 2023, noting that structures were being put in place to make the party more formidable both at the national and state levels.
To this end, Idawene said SDP was united under his leadership as the Delta State Chairman and Pastor Highness Akporode as the State Secretary even as he advised the mischief makers to be guided accordingly.
“SDP is open to all. We are one and we are ready to consolidate on democratic dividends, all trouble makers should stay off SDP both at the National and State level.”
Idawene noted that with the BVAS method adopted by INEC popular and acceptable candidates shall win elections come 2023 saying the era of ballot boxes snatching was over.
“We called on all eligible aspirants to come out and run under the SDP because victory is sure in Delta state.”
According to him; “We have established the name SDP fully in Delta state. We are the only alternative right now that is credible in the state. So we shall be giving Deltans the very best they deserve in 2023 general elections.”
