Delta Govt. Expresses Satisfaction With Compliance To School Resumptionl

Delta State Government has expressed satisfaction with the unprecedented level of compliance of teachers and students in public primary and secondary schools with school resumption for the third term 2021/2022 academic session in the state.

The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education, Mr. Augustine Ede Oghoro stated shortly after monitoring school resumption in Asaba.

Oghoro, who said that the purpose of the monitoring of the school resumption was to confirm the level of compliance by students and teachers in public schools across the state, noted that there was several officials of the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education monitoring the resumption simultaneously.

He said that he was covering school resumption in Delta North, adding that the State Commissioner for Secondary Education, Mrs. Rose Ezewu was monitoring Delta South and Central Senatorial Districts.

Oghoro, who commended teachers and students for their enthusiasm to begin teaching and learning activities, hinted that since students had dedicated the first day of school resumption to clean their classes, lessons would continue on Tuesday.

The Permanent Secretary listed schools visited with his team to include Unity Secondary school in the Capital Territory, Government Model Secondary school, Asaba , West End Mixed Secondary school, Zappa Secondary School and Abuator Three Primary School all in Asaba , the State Capital.

Also inspected during the visit by the Permanent Secretary were the construction of ten classroom blocks in Unity Secondary school and twenty classroom blocks at West End Mixed Secondary School, Asaba where Mr. Oghoro told the Site Engineer, Sharpstone Computer Limited , Engr. Jason Imunmlion to increase their pace of work in order to deliver the work on time

In her remarks, the Vice Principal (Administration) , Zappa Secondary School, Asaba , Mrs. Stella Nwakanma appreciated the State Government for recently providing 209 students’ chairs for the school.

The Director of Schools in the Ministry, Mrs. Clementina Ojumah also monitored school resumption in Obinomba mixed Secondary School, Ebedei Mixed Secondary School, Umutu Mixed Secondary School and Umuaja Mixed Secondary School in Ukwuani Local Government Area as well as Ute-Okpu Mixed Secondary School in Ika North East Local Government Area and Ekuku -Agbor Grammar School in Ika South .

Meanwhile, the State Commissioner for Secondary Education, Mrs. Rose Ezewu has advised teachers in the state to redouble their commitments to duties and ensure that they impact meaningfully on students.

Mrs. Ezewu gave the advice while monitoring school resumption in Delta South and Central Senatorial Districts.
