Delta State House of Assembly has again stressed the need for stability in the, Environment, Oil and Gas sectors as the state wants to maintain its leading role the sectors.
Chairman, Assembly Committee on Environment, Oil and Gas, Hon Festus Utuama, stated this in separate sessions with the ministries of Environment, Oil and Gas and parastatals under their supervision.
Hon Utuama who represents Ughelli South in the House, said the two ministries have great role to play at ensuring stability in the operations of both indigenous and multinationals companies in Delta state.
He said oil is the main stay of the nation’s economy, noting that Delta State had always played a leading role in the sector.
The Lawmaker who stressed the need for stakeholders in the sector to maintain peace and understanding, also reminded the Ministry of Environment on the desire to making Delta the cleanest state in Nigeria.
Utuama expressed optimism that provisions in the 2024 budget for the MDAs in Environment, Oil and Gas, would be adequate to function properly in line with the MORE agenda of the state government.
The Lawmaker assured the MDAs of the support of his led Committee in the task ahead, saying that members attached so much importance to success.
The Commissioners and Heads of the various MDAs, called for greater synergy with the committee to enhance their performance.
