2027 General Elections: TUC, Integrity Group Optimistic of Oborevwori’s Second Term Victory

Organise labour under the umbrella of the Trade Union Congress TUC, and a frontline socio-political group, the Integrity Group of Delta State, have expressed the optimism that giving the developmental trajectory of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s administration in less than two years in office, his chances of winning second term is bright.

Speaking at the TUC secretariat in Asaba when he led members of Integrity Group on courtesy visit to the union, Dr. Oke Idawene, the Convener of Integrity Group of Delta State, said the group which is solely aim at promoting the MORE agenda of the governor and You Matter Charity Foundation of the first lady, Dame Tobore Oborevwori.

He said the group purpose of visit was to officially identify with the organise labour and to urge them to key into the governor Oborevwori’s administration stressing that “once you have the workers you have the voters because they won’t betray you.”

Continuing; “We need synergy with workers to enable the governor four plus four. TUC is now part and parcel of MORE agenda through the Integrity group. Oborevwori second term project is a project of all Deltans hence the meeting with the organise labour.”
According to the Convener; “Highlight of today’s visit is to unveil the TUC chairman as an ambassador of Integrity group. He is a man of Integrity and a man to work with. I can say the workers are lucky to have him as a chairman.”
On his part, Comrade Martins Nwachukwu Bolum, Delta state Chairman of TUC, thanked the Convener  for the honour saying “I am obediently Sheriffy, the governor is someone, we know. I am a member of Integrity group because we share similar vision. The workers in Delta have fed well under Sheriff administration and PDP administrations since inception. Sheriff will get the votes of Delta workers in 2027 because he is ‘talk nado’ governor.
“He promised prompt salary and every month workers recieved salary 24 or 25 every month. Sheriff is a man of integrity. He is good market. He is the first governor in the country to pay the national minimum wage with consequential adjustments.
“He promised us generator as soon as we made requests to power our secretariat, he is a merciful man to have pleaded for two Engineers in service who issued certificates of job completion when the job have not been done. Sheriff is a man of Integrity. There is no big deal regarding 2027, Oborevwori will emerge victorious.”
He commended Integrity Group for starting the campaign for Oborevwori’s second term early saying the TUC and the entire workers in the state will partners with the group for governor Oborevwori’s second term project.
Dame Mimie Igbrude, Chief Adviser of Integrity Group and member, Delta State Local Government Service Commission, in her remarks described governor Sheriff Oborevwori as a pragmatic leader who in less than two  years in office, has done pretty well in terms of project delivery.
“In 2027 elections, I don’t think the governor will have any challenger. I am happy to be associated with the Sheriff administration. The workers have testifies about the governor and they are already campaigning for him because of what he has done. We must all be focused because election is by casting votes, i can asure you that the governor is winning all the way.” She noted.
Comrade Lawson Efenudu, Secretary, Delta State Bureau of Pension, expressed delight on the leadership qualities of governor Oborevwori saying all affiliate unions across the country appreciates the governor.
According to him, Delta has been blessed with cool headed governors noting “On monthly basis, the Bureau for Pension received N1bilion from the state government for pension schemes in the state, calculate that for 12 months you will know that the governor is trying. So, the peace you experience in the state is because of harmonious relationship between government and workers.” Efenudu pointed.
