Oborevwori Warns Trespassers Against Govt Land in Asaba, Sapele Others

By Barth Ozah
Delta State Commissioner for Works (Rural Roads) and Public Information, Mr Charles Aniagwu, has warned individuals building on government lands across the 25 local government areas to evacuate as the government will soon reclaim such lands.
The commissioner handed down the warning during a press briefing at the state secretariat in Asaba. He pointed the African Timber and Plywood ATP Company, Sapele and Dennis Osadebay University, Asaba as flash points where land grabbers are having a field day.
He directed those individuals and organisations who have encroached on government lands to pull their buildings down or they will be compel to pay for cost of pulling them down by the government saying it is height of criminality for individuals to steal government lands.
Stressing on government resolved for quality jobs by the contractors executing government projects, Aniagwu revealed that governor Oborevwori has charged Commissioners to properly supervised projects under their purview to ensure compliance with Bill of Quantities BoQ agreed with government.
He chided the former Deputy Senate President, Ovie Augustine Omo-Agege’s claim that governor Oborevwori has abandoned governance and busy using state funds servicing godfathers noting that Omo-Agege should be happy that governor Oborevwori won the best governors award by the Thisday newspaper and Arise TV.
He also came hard on Omo-Agege claims that there is no project in Ndokwa land. He noted that no fewer than 15 km of road projects currently being executed by Oborevwori’s administration in Ndokwa west alone as well as other projects on going in Ndokwa East and Ukwuani LGAs.
He urged Omo-Agege to desist from blackmail but instead be happy that governor Oborevwori is being recognised nation wide for his prudence in management of state resources and project executions.
“He went through this path in 2023, even when Oborevwori had not become a Governor; yet, Oborevwori defeated him in 21 out of the 25 local government areas. So, I thought the lesson of that defeat was enough for him to know the kind of criticisms he should embark upon.”
