The All Progressives Congress, APC, Isoko South II Constituency has passed a vote of confidence on its member in the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon. (Dr.) Ferguson Onwo and endorsed him as the party’s consensus candidate for the 2027 general elections.
The endorsement took place at the APC Isoko South LGA Secretariat in Oleh during a stakeholders’ meeting attended by the Local Government Council Chairman, Hon. Voke Warri, party leaders, and members from across the constituency.
The motion for the vote of confidence was moved by Barr. Eloho Edivri, seconded by Hon. Harrison Igorigo and adopted unanimously through a voice vote conducted by the APC Isoko South LGA Chairman, Hon. Victor Ekelega.
Party faithful at the meeting offered glowing tributes to Hon. Onwo’s record of service and commitment to a better society.

Several speakers described him as “a lawmaker who keeps his doors open to all” and “a representative who turns promises into projects”.
“Hon Chief Onwo listens and responds when we call. Whether it is a school roof blown off by wind or a young person needing support for WAEC, he is always there. That is why we stand with him.
“Before now, many of us felt forgotten. Today, we see roads fixed, drainage cleared, and support for small businesses. He has made representation practical,” a constituent said.
Another added: “In the past, we only saw our representatives during elections. Hon. Onwo is different. He is on ground, he attends our meetings, and he delivers. That is why we are saying, let him continue.”

In their remarks, the Chairman Isoko South Council, Hon. Voke Warri, and the APC LGA Chairman, Hon. Victor Ekelega, said the party was proud of Onwo’s performance and contributions to the development of the constituency, adding that his accessibility and consistency had strengthened the APC’s base across Isoko South II Constituency.
Responding, Hon. Onwo thanked party leaders and members for the confidence reposed in him and pledged more effective representation, people-oriented projects, and sustained engagement with stakeholders across the constituency.
The lawmaker called for unity ahead of the 2027 elections, stressing that collective effort is needed to strengthen the APC in Isoko South.

Onwo said Isoko Nation was the first in Delta State to endorse the reelection bids of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Sheriff Oborevwori as far back as April last year, citing visible development and improved governance as the reason.
He noted that reforms introduced by the Federal Government, especially in taxation and resource management, have increased allocations to states and local governments, which he said has enabled councils to execute projects and meet salary obligations.
Hon. Onwo contrasted this with the past, when local government workers and teachers were owed salaries for months, and attributed the current improvement to the leadership of President Tinubu.

He commended Governor Oborevwori for the pace of infrastructural development across Delta State, describing the simultaneous execution of projects in different parts of the state as remarkable.
The lawmaker said the achievements of both the President and the Governor would serve as major campaign tools for the APC, and expressed confidence that the party would emerge victorious.
Responding to questions on opposition parties, Hon. Onwo said his record of over 70 projects across the constituency speaks louder than campaign promises.
He argued that voters would choose continuity and performance over “mere promises,” and said the APC already has tangible achievements to present to the electorate ahead of 2027.
The meeting ended with chants of solidarity from women, youth, and elders across Isoko South II Constituency.
