Women in Amachai Quarters of Okpanam have pledged their unalloyed support for the Governorship candidate of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) , Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori as well as the party’s House of Assembly candidate for Oshimili North, Barr. Frank Esenwah .
The women said that they were happy with the development strides in Okpanam community by the Okowa led administration hence they had decided to vote for PDP in order for the development to continue.
Speaking during a meeting with a cross section of women in Amachai , which was organised by the Senior Special Assistant to Delta State Governor, Office of the Secretary to the State Government, Amb. Sir Felix Ideh and the Special Assistant on Women Mobilisation, Mrs. Anthonia Chukwuedo, a former ward 9 woman leader of the party, Mrs. Bibian Nwankwo said that Okpanam community had benefited immensely from the PDP led administration.
Also speaking, a woman leader from Unit 26 Amachai, Mrs. Helen Gabriel Igboti called on other eligible voters in Okpanam and the state at large to vote for PDP, adding that a vote for Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori was a vote for the upliftment of the state.
Earlier, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor, Office of the Secretary to the State Government (SSG) , Amb. Sir Felix Ideh described women as Important stakeholders whose numerous strength was needed for the victory of the party.
Amb. Sir Ideh, who said that after the youths , women were next in the area of population, stressing that it was a thing of joy to discover that all the women that attended the meeting had their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs).
The SSA noted that the meeting was in continuation of their campaign for votes for Oborevwori and Frank Esenwah, saying that PDP Guber candidate and Barr. Esenwah were the best for the job.
He explained that if candidate of any other party emerged as Governor, the growth and development in Okpanam could be stopped, adding that Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori had the capacity to take the state and in particular to enviable height.
In her remarks, the Special Assistant to the Governor on Women Mobilisation, Mrs. Anthonia Chukwuedo stressed the need for equity and fairness in the choice of the next House of Assembly member for Oshimili North, emphasising that since Ibusa had produced House of Assembly members for couple of years ,they should support Barr. Esenwah to represent Oshimili North.
