2023: DSP Omo-Agege Visit To Emerhor, Mere Political Showmanship – Okowa’s EAC

Executive Assistant to the Governor of Delta State on Communications, Barr Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe, JP, has said that the new wave of political friendship between the Deputy Senate President, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege and Olorogun Otega Emerhor, amounts to profitless political showmanship.

The EACGOV in a statement on Sunday 28th March and made available to newsmen, asserted that the tango of the duo will crash like a pack of cards as Deltans navigate towards 2023 general elections.

He posited that APC gubernatorial candidate in 2015, Olorogun Emerhor, was apparently economical with the truth when he told his party supporters that APC perpetual failures in elections was as a result of lack of unity among leaders of the party in the state.

It will be recalled that Emerhor while speaking at a reception he organised in honour of the Deputy Senate President, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, on Saturday 13th March, 2021 at his country home in Evwreni, Ughelli North Local Government Area of the state, said disunity among the three major factions in APC Delta was responsible for the party’s consistent poor performance.

Oghenesivbe faulted Emerhor’s statement, saying that Court judgments in all post election matters were in favour of PDP, wherein the Judges berated APC Delta repeatedly for lack of genuine evidence to back up her frivolous and unmerited prayers, adding that APC did not at any material time during legal battles with PDP identify internal crisis or disunity among leaders as the major reason for not winning elections in the state.

Okowa’s EAC who is a Fellow of the Civilian Institute of Democratic Administration, fcida, noted that APC Delta have no political structures and lacked what it takes to win governorship election, adding that DSP Agege is overstretching his luck by nursing governorship ambition in 2023.

Oghenesivbe, described the two political gladiators, Emerhor and Agege, as friends of convenience, likened to the relationship between Antonio and Shylock in Shakespeare’s play; Merchant of Venice, and that 2023 shall be the ideal season for one of them to demand for his “pound of flesh.”

“Olorogun Emerhor is aware that APC Delta cannot win governorship election in the state, come 2023, but decided to make Senator Agege feel on top of the world when he played host to him.

“I know for sure, that deep down in their hearts, Emerhor and Agege, are aware that APC is an evil child that will soon find her right place in the evil forest of politics, judging from the visible mismanagement of the nation’s economy, lack of visionary leadership, multifaceted ethno-religious crisis under President Mohammadu Buhari, and APC national government failure to end Fulani Herders unlawful killing of innocent Nigerians, across the country.

“PDP under governor Okowa, will again humiliate APC Delta in 2023 by handing over power to another democratically elected PDP governor in the state” Oghenesivbe added.
