FUPRE – Centre For Sustainable Development Unveils Partners Investiture And Roundtable On Sustainable Development

The Federal University of Petroleum Resources in collaboration with the Centre for Sustainable Development, a Non-governmental Organisation is set for the unveiling of partners investiture and roundtable on Sustainable Development on April 22.

The Executive Director of Eziodu Initiative for Sustainable Environment Development, Deacon Okezi Odugala on Thursday in Asaba said that all was set for the unveiling of the programme with the theme: ” Natural and Human Sustainability – the Nexus of Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow Livability”.

Odughala said that the Roundtable would be chaired by an internationally renowned Environmentalist Dr Newton Jibunoh, while Prince Emmanuel Odigie, the Chief Executive Officer of EmmyBless Construction Limited is expected to be the Special Guest of Honour of the occasion.

He said that the centre which domiciled in FUPRE, would be specialized in the training and research in the oil and gas industry in Nigeria.

Odughala said that FUPRE ha shown capacity in implementing the Goal 17 of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals(SDGs) by partnering with civil society and private sector in advancing learning and research in Nigeria and the global community.

He also said that the programme would help the civil society and the private sector to advance the content for turning out the present state of socio-economic and environmental challenges to positivism.

”The centre will also be used as a special purpose vehicle and a hub of training and research to advance the livability of the Nigeria society,” he said.

He commended Prof. Rim-Rukeh Akpofure, the Vice Chancellor of FUPRE and the management of the institution for their supports in making the vision a reality.
