Leaders of Aghoro 11, Community,Iduwini Kingdom Bayelsa State has linked the present crisis rocking it in which at the doorstep of some Idigenes lost their property to unknown attackers at the doorstep of SHELL PETROLEUM DEVELOPMENT COMPANY SPDC.for it’s Divide And Rule Tactics coupled with the collaboration of some mischievous Idigenes of the Community who are using fronting for some personnel of the Oil Giant to change the benefits of the community.
Speaking with Journalists the newly elected Chairman,, Comrade Konyefa Miejude accused the Oil Giant of fuelling the latest crisis by recognizing and given some job slots to the former Youth Executives led by Mr Party Alabor, Timi Felix and Daniel Etaghene Ikpama , Chairman,Vice Chairman and Secretary whose tenure expired since 23, February,2022.
He added that their action negates the directive of Bayelsa State Government which says nobody should parade himself as leader or Leaders of the Community until all issues bedeviling it are resolved.”
According to him Soldiers led by one Captain Okereke from Elele Battalion are allegedly acting under the instructions of
Mr Nengi Brown, Lucky Abitor, and Dominic Erhuotor all personal of SPDC and not the Bayelsa State Government.
He disclosed that Demes Enterprises is own by Mr Fred Orumiene. While Toweze and Son is owned by Mr Towenze Agbedi who Idigenes of the Community.
” These Companies are fronting for Mr Nengi Brown Community Relations Coordinator,( CRC) of SPDC Port Harcourt and Hon.Fred Agbedi of the Federal House of Representatives.They are using the NIGERIAN ARMY to suppress and oppresse the Leadership of the Community for instance these same persons allegedly use the Army to prevent the Swearing in Ceremony of the newly elected officials of the Community.
Gun shots were fired into air sporadically for hours all in a bid to cow the people into submission.
Comrade Konyefa Miejude called on the Federal and Bayelsa State Governments to call SHELL and those Idigenes collaborating with them to destroy their Community to desist from do so and all operations by the Company stop, until all issues threathening the peace of the Community are resolved as earlier directed by the Bayelsa State Government.
He said that the present problem started when they confronted Mr party Alabor, Felix and Etaghene Ikpama Chairman,Vice and Secretary of the former Youth Executives whose tenure expired since 23, February,2022 that it was not their duty to solicit job slots for the Community rather it is the duty of the Community Executives CDC.
So we brought them to the town hall, while we were in the Town Hall Some Soldiers under the instructions of SHE’LL not Bayelsa State Government started shooting sporadically into the air to intimidate our people at the Town Hall. while we were questioning them. Soldiers came ,upon inquiring they took them away to unknown destination.
The Soldiers made us to understand that these three men are the people troubling the Community based on security report.So they were whisked away! Everybody was still vigilant when report got to us that Hon.Fred Agbedi House has been destroy! We were in our area we do not know or have knowledge of what happened there! We are Community Leaders we are not Politicians! We have no business with Hon.Fred Agbedi, he is a member of the Federal House of Representatives Abuja.So we have no business with him and we know nothing about the attack on his House.
Chief Doctor Bosine one of the Elders of the Community recalled that he has suffer a lot as a result of the Community problem.He stressed that the present problem was as a result of SPDC recognition and giving Job slots to people who are out of office.
Even when the Bayelsa State Government has already asked everybody to maintain the status quo yet these guys were still operating to the extent they signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Oil Companies on behalf of the Community without the knowledge of the people. So we caught them and brought them to our Town Hall but before you knew it the Soldiers who were in SPDC House Boat working for the company fire shots rapidly to intimidate our people and took the three men away to unknown destination.The Soldiers are acting under the instructions of SPDC and not the Bayelsa State Government.We are calling on the Company to desist from this divide and rule tactics for interest of Peace and if it wants to continue to operate in our Community.
For those who are familiar with the situation of Aghoro 11 Community,put the cause of the present problem rocking it at the door step of the Bayelsa State Government for failing, up two years now they have not been able to solve the problem most expectially the Amananawei ( King) crisis thereby leaving the Community with a Central Leadership vacum
HRH,Afro Biukeme has been nominated and coronated by the people for more than one year ago the Bayelsa State Government asked him to wait, for him to be given Staff of Office. .
The newly elected Executives of the CDC has not been Sworn in.
This lack of Centralized Leadership of the Community is what giving SPDC the open opportunity to it’s operate Divide And Rule Tactics among the locals and the alleged Hon.Fred Agbedi angle.
