Nigerians see it as ray of hope as the new breed of Governorship and Presidential aspirants go about their consultations and campaigns with the sole aim to revamp the current failed economy and the unemployment galore that ravaged the destiny of the youths to nonentity or none in the country.
Although, some of the past aspirants came up with the same move to revamp the failed economy but this new breed came into the streets and visited the home of political leaders and delegates with different voice and with new dimensions of campaign that indicated more preparedness to improve on the bad economy, especially as Nigerians continue to live in untold hardship, that eventually create room for fear and retardation of movement due to incessant evil acts perpetuated by various categories of persons in all the states of the federation.
This therefore showed that most of the evil acts and series of social vices that are mainly seen with the youths is as a result of hunger and the quest for comfort created by unemployment.
It is therefore my candid advice to every aspirants to include in their manifestos the re-awakening and resuscitation of the Ailing and Abandoned Industries as well as the plan to make good use of the local raw materials in the different parts of the country for manufacturing of desirable products and bringing in viable enterprises and businesses that could enhanced the growth and development of the respective states.
This will no doubt reduced the rate of unemployment and a total collapsed of the failed economy, where some of the youths that abandoned Education for yahoo, rituals and other act of social vices which is almost becoming a norm in the society would be discarded or entirely disappeared from the country, thereby giving room for developmental growth and peace.
It is embarrassing and sad that no Governor of any State or Presidency ever thought of establishment of industries or bringing in viable enterprises or businesses since 1999, where Nigerians would have worked to earn salaries in order to sustain their living, rather, the establishment of Tertiary institution that are massively approved and located in rural and urban towns as if Establishment of Higher Institutions is declared as “State of Emergency”.
It is appalling that most of the Universities and Polytechnics are faculties of all the premier Higher Institutions, solely created for the study of Agriculture, Education, Science and Technology which most of us see as incomplete courses or programmes n the tertiary institutions where the result will be the turn out of half baked graduates that will fluctuate the labour market. Even, at the Presidency where we have our brother, Sen. Ovie Omo-Agege as the fourth citizen who would have used his influence to give Delta State gigantic industries or viable enterprises to reduce the rate of unemployment and perhaps the rate of the untold hardship could not think of it in this way, rather the same thought of Schools where a Polytechnic and Law School are seen best and located in Orogun town.
However,, a young dynamic politician with powerful vision of Eagle-eyes who can see far and fully endowed with the instrument and knowledge to turn the State to overwhelming beauty and economy viability is already on his way to the Dennis Osadebe Government House.
The sight and speech of Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori in the subsequent consultations is at moment making some people in the State to salivate since his choice connotes a ray of hope with the readiness to continue to revamp the bad economy that extended its hands from the Presidency in which the incumbent Governor has been battling with employment of the young graduates and the continue efforts to give skill training and sustainable empowerment to the youths.
Oborevwori as former Chairman and Youth Leader of a Community may have had a sleepless night with the problems of the Youths and the young gradates in which their years of study in the School are converted to Okada and Keke riders. It is without doubt that Sheriff had what it takes to make life comfortable for the youths and the young graduates.
Sheriff as we know is aware that Delta State needed new industries and perhaps the resuscitation of abandoned companies or parastatals like Aladja Steel complex, Asaba Textile Mill, Asaba, Glass factory Ughelli, AT&P Sapele, Eternit Roofing and Asbestus Sapele, Soap factory, Sapele, Flour Mill Sapele, Bendel Steel Structure Enerhen as well as Local raw materials that could be used to establish fundable industries with the production of materials that are useful for our daily life settings.
A thorough look at the 7points agenda of the incumbent Governor, Sen (Dr) Ifeanyi Okowa will show to all that one of the focus is employment of the young graduates, skill training and empowerment of the youths. So, it is a wise decision and best in his (Sheriff) subsequent consultations that he is on the race to step on the big shoes of the incumbent Governor whom everyone had praised for the gigantic projects , construction of roads that brought about the nick name “Road Master” and thousands of youths that were trained with different kinds of skills and physical cash to set up their businesses and workshops to practicalised their training.
Deltans should not doubt the competency and ability of Sheriff Oborrevwori in State governance, since he was able to lead and pilot the well enlightened and experienced 29 legislators including himself of divergence interests without conflict and still able to work diligently and conscientiously with the Executive and the Judiciary arm of government. The people of Delta State are therefore called upon to support and cue behind him since the majority of the legislators that were voted in, to represent each of the constituency in the State, have seen him best and capable of instituting good governance.
You will recall that James Ibori and Emmanuel Uduaghan did not attain such wide experience or knowledge in government functionaries except the later who was a staff in Delta Steel complex Aladja and finally as Commissioner for Health and SSG to the State, yet they were able to govern the State to the best of their abilities. Then, why will Sheriff that went into leadership with a Start as Community Chairman, Youth Leader and later as Counsellor and Supervisor for works in Okpe Local government area, Special Assistant to the Governor on Youth matter, Legislator and Speaker of the State House of Assembly, will not be able to institute good governance?. This experience ought to show to everyone that he (Sheriff) will not use the office of the Governor of a State like Delta that is saddled with multi-ethnic group with divergence interest to learn or make it look like a personal office that is handled as one desires.
Sheriff possess an eagle eye in which his vision and focus is on how to make Delta State great right from his tender age. For instance, he (Sheriff) told the audience that at his tender age, he was able to come out vigour in the midst of highly Educated and experience indigenes of Osubi and the entire Urhobo nation to mobilized and pressurised the Federal Government to re-visit the aged long approved Airport in Osubi town and put it into use.
Sheriff could be seen as a “Hero” for the gigantic and overwhelming beautiful endeavour which eventually led to the massive growth and development of Osubi town where it is well recognized and conspicuously positioned in Nigeria map.
Sheriff is a good choice, Support him to actualized the dream. Delta will be safe on his hands.
