Advancing Delta Project: IRS Boss Calls For More Peaceful, Secured State

Chairman, Delta State Board of Internal Revenue Service, IRS, Hon (Chief) Solomon Ighrakpata has underscored the need for a more secured and united state.

Hon Ighrakpata stated that the MORE agenda of Gov Sheriff Oborevrwori is on course and requires collective efforts of every critical stakeholders in the state to achieve the desired results.

Speaking in an interview with newsmen against the backdrop of the recent Election Petitions Tribunal verdict on the 2023 gubernatorial contest, Ighrakpata who represented Uvwie Constituency in the 4th and 7th Delta Assembly, stressed the need for all parties involved to embrace peace in the interest of the state.

He described the celebrations that greeted the last Friday Governor’s tribunal victory as overwhelming, noting that Deltans made their choice at the poll by voting enmass for Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevrwori in the said election.

The former Lawmaker spoke against further litigation against the Governor as such was capable of sending wrong signal in the political atmosphere of Delta state as the state has been very peaceful when compared to what is happening in some state.

“Good enough the three other candidates for the election, APC Ovie Omo-Agege, LP Ken Pela and SDP Keneth Gbagi, that contested the election with His Excellency, Rt Hon Sheriff F.O. Oborevrwori, are all notable sons of the Urhobo nation. My continuous appeal is for them to embrace their bother whom God and majority of the people of Delta State has chosen this time around to advance the state.

“As key stakeholders and candidates of political parties, any genuine inputs from them would be appreciated. They need to join forces with the Governor to achieve the desire of the people for sustainable development. The Governor need peace and secured environment to operate. He doesn’t need distractions”, Ighrakpata stated.

The former Lawmaker thanked the people of the state for their prayers and support so far and urged all not to loose focus in their quest for a greater Delta State.
