Leaders and stakeholders of a grass rooted political pressure group, Delta Political Vanguard, DPV, appears to be regrouping for another round of electioneering victory, as political activities of 2023 general elections is about to commence in Delta State.

Principal officers of the group led by the national leader, Evangelist Hon Michael Diden Ejele, on Sunday, 30th May 2021, assembled members from across the state, in Sapele, to review the past six years of their patron and state governor, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, and to appreciate the dividends of Democracy that he has been able to spread across the state.

Ejele said Okowa had in the past six years kept all electioneering promises made to Deltans across the three Senatorial districts, and urged members to brace up for another assignment that will ensure continuity of good governance beyond 2023.

He assured Deltans that the good work of governor Okowa, will never be allowed to go down the drain after his tenure, hence DPV members will participate actively in all 2023 electioneering activities, particularly mass mobilization of eligible voters to ensure the victory of the party’s candidate.

“We are gathered here today to congratulate ourselves as stakeholders in this administration by virtue of our hard work and contributions to our Principal’s victory in 2015, and reelection in 2019.

“It is crystal clear that he didn’t let us down, rather he surpassed the expectations of Deltans through good governance, as encapsulated in the SMART Agenda, Prosperity For All Deltans mantra and the ongoing implementation of the Stronger Delta Agenda.

“It is our collective responsibility to consistently pray for our patron, the governor of Delta State; for God to continue to shower his Grace and protection upon him and his entire family.

“The remaining two years of this administration is very strategic and it is our collective responsibility to go the way of the governor in all political arrangements and electioneering activities,” Ejele said.

In the same vein, Director General of Delta Political Vanguard and State Director of Protocol, Hon Ifeanyi Eboigbe, noted that Okowa administration brought rapid transformation in terms of socioeconomic and infrastructure development, which is why all hands must be on deck to ensure that Okowa legacy is taken further beyond 2023 by a tested and trusted leader.

He appealed to DPV members to remain focused and to obey lawful orders of all national, state or local government leaders of the group, adding that 2023 politics is very important to the good people of Delta State, especially electing an incorruptible, detribalised and God fearing governor, that will build on the monumental achievements of governor Okowa, after his tenure.

“Our governor is in good standing, and it is a thing of joy that under his leadership many good things happened to Delta and many more will happen in the remaining two years of this administration.

“Delta is in the fast lane of socioeconomic transformation. The state experienced rapid development in the past six years, and the temple must be sustained beyond 2023. And the only way to do this is to join hands with governor Okowa, and the good people of Delta state to elect a man of integrity and of unblemished character.

“Delta state has been rated as one of the fast developing States in Nigeria, and only recently the United Nations – Humanitarian Coordinator in Nigeria, Mr Edward Kallon, disclosed that our governor is one of the most progressive governors in Nigeria, based on well reached empirical data. We take pride in this and appreciate God, for His Grace upon our governor and the state.

“I urge all of us to remain steadfast, continue to support our amiable governor and this administration, even as we enter another era of political activities that will usher in a new administration in 2023.

“We cannot afford to fold our hands. We shall work very hard to make things happen again,” Eboigbe said.

Deputy national leader of DPV and Managing Director of DESOPADEC, Bashorun Askia Ogie, extolled the good virtues of the state governor, Senator Okowa, describing him as a God fearing leader with strong passion for the wellbeing of Deltans, and overall development of the state.

He said Delta state, made remarkable progress in job and wealth creation through various vocational and skills acquisition programmes; YAGEP, STEP, PROJECT GEST and RYSA, pointing out that over 100,000 youth have benefited either directly or indirectly from the empowerment and youth entrepreneurship programmes, in the past six years and still counting.

He disclosed that DESOPADEC executed several socioeconomic and infrastructure development projects in oil producing communities across the state, and commended Gov Okowa, for his multifaceted support, without which the commission would not have been able to achieve so much in the past six years and still counting.

Ogie, assured Deltans of two more years of Okowa administration uncommon transformation in all sectors of the state economy; to make it a total of eight years of impactful leadership and good governance.

“DPV is proud of governor Okowa’s achievements in six years and we shall continue to be loyal to him as our patron, in the years ahead,” Ogie assured..
