Okolie Ascends To Diokpa-Isi Throne Of Amachai, Restates Importance Of Peace In Development

The Diokpa-Isi of Amachai quarters in Okpanam, Oshimili North Local Government Area of Delta State, Ogbueshi Mathias Okolie has described peace as a critical instrument of socioeconomic growth and development of any society.

Ogbueshi Okolie, who stated this at his Umuolie village of Amachai during his coronation as the Diokpa-Isi of Amachai, advised youths in the area to always embrace peace and cooperate with one another for the development of the area just as he assured that he would continue to operate an open door policy in the administration of the community.

While saying that there was plan by his administration to empower the youths of Amachai , Ogbueshi Okolie admonished youths of Amachai and Okpanam in general to shun divisive tendency and articulate ideas that would accelerate meaningful development of the community.

Earlier, a Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, office of the Secretary to the State Government, Mr. Felix Ideh, who recalled that Okpanam was a genocratic society where the oldest man ascended to the throne of the Diokpa-Isi, described Ogbueshi Mathias Okolie as a man of peace and enjoined the people to sustain the existing peace in the community.

Also speaking, the Chairman of Amachai Youths , Comrade Emmanuel Onwudinjo Agala and a frontline aspirant for the position of Okpanam Youths President, Comrade Lucky Okolo said that it was a thing of celebration for one to ascend to the throne of the oldest man in the community, noting that the celebrant had been clamouring for peace in the area.

While wishing the Diokpa-Isi longevity of life, Comrade Agala lauded Ogbueshi Mathias Okolie for his pivotal role in bringing peace to Amachai and for his lofty ideas that had brought a new dawn in the community.

In their separate remarks, the Delta North Coordinator of People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Popular Mobilisation group , Mrs. Anthonia Chukwuedo , the chairman of Okpanam Vigilante, Mr. Emeka Okolie and Mr. Joseph Okolie who is a newphew to the celebrant prayed God to protect and give him the wisdom to pilot the affairs of the community.

Mr. Joseph Okolie and Mrs. Anthonia Chukwuedo specifically described the Diokpa-Isi of Amachai as an uncommon disciplinarian and a frontline campaigner against any form of injustice, stressing that the peace he advocated was being enjoyed in the community.
