Delta SSG Reaffirms Gov. Okowa’s Commitments To Tackling Unemployment

The Secretary to Delta State Government (SSG),Chief Patrick Ukah has reiterated Governor Ifeanyi Okowa’s avowed commitments towards tacking unemployment in the state through multifaceted approaches including empowerment programmes for youths and women in the area of skill acquisition.

Chief Ukah stated this in Okpanam, Oshimili North Local Government Area of the state during the 15th Anniversary of and graduation as well as the exhibition of JOSE – Kems Beauty Trends Skill Acquisition Centre.

The SSG,who was represented by the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor, office of the SSG , Mr. Felix Ideh commended the CEO of JOSE Kems Beauty Trends Skill Acquisition Centre, Hon. Franca Nkem Nwankwo who is one of the councillors representing Okpanam ward 9 in Oshimili North Local Government Council for effectively keying into the Governor’s youths empowerment initiative.

Chief Ukah stated that skill acquisition was one of the top most policies of the present administration, adding that youths in Okpanam and the state in general should embrace skills of their choice in order to be self reliant.

Earlier, the CEO of JOSE Kems Beauty Trends Skill Acquisition Centre, Hon. Franca Nkem Nwankwo congratulated the graduands of the centre, noting that skill acquisition was about the growth, financial independence and being a master at what one achieved with one’s knowledge in different skills they had gained.

Hon. Nkwankwo , who said that the graduands had been equipped with the needed capacity to be employers of labour and change the lives of people around them , advised them to take advantage of their knowledge to impact meaningfully on the society.

In his welcome address, the Chairman of the occasion, Prince Austin Obi enjoined granduants of the centre to establish their various businesses as quickly as possible and approach it with utmost commitments rather than waiting for whenever millions before putting into practice what they had gathered from the centre .

Also speaking, one of the councillors in Okpanam, Hon. Ezuche Barry Okonkwo , who promised to sponsor two students of the centre in the next session, said that the centre had continued to complement Senator (Dr.) Ifeanyi Okowa’s approach job creation and admonished graduands especially those were provided with starterpacks by their sponsors to make good use of them .

The graduation and exhibition ceremony was attended by top dignitaries including the Special Adviser the Governor on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) , Mr. Andy Ilabor, the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr. Olisa Ifeajika , the Leader of Oshimili North Legislative Arm ,Hon. Adim Ofuasia, Hon. Jeffery Mordi and Hon. Ifechukwude Hilary Okobi among others .

Some of the graduands including miss Ijeoma Lovette and Mrs. Mary Obanya who was provided with an ovum and miser by her sponsor, Dr. Anthony Dike but was represented by her husband, Mr . Boise Obanya thanked the CEO of the centre and their sponsors for according them a source of livelihood.

At the end of the ceremony certificate of graduation was presented to the granduants while the CEO of the centre, Hon. France Nkem Nwankwo was presented with an award by the publisher of Frontline news
