A former Member of the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon (Chief) Daniel Yingi has described the emergence of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa as the running mate to the PDP candidate for the 2023 presidential election, Alhaji Atiku Aburbakar, as well deserved.
Hon Yingi in a congratulatory message to the governor, expressed gratitude to God for the choice of Dr Ifeanyi Okowa as the Vice Presidential candidate, saying that the development was a pointer to victory of PDP in the next year presidential election.
Yingi who is the immediate past Special Adviser to the Governor on Environment and Marine Transportation, said Dr Okowa had been a committed politician who antecedents in party politics brought him thus far.
He said “as the foundation member of our great party, the PDP, His Excellence, Senator (Dr) Ifeanyi Okowa has been very committed to the growth and development of the party. He had worked tirelessly to bring stability to the party and see it progress. His choice as the running mate to Presidential Candidate of our party is very strategic and reward for hardwork. It is a good omen for lovers of democracy and signifies victory for the PDP”.
Hon Yingi congratulated Dr Okowa for always been a leading light for others, saying that his score card as governor of Delta State had made campaign for PDP presidency much more easier.
He stressed that there are so much to showcase of Okowa’s achievement as the head of the Delta State Government.
The two time member of the State Legislature stated that the PDP is committed to its “Rescue Nigeria Project’ from the shackles of darkness, stressing that Nigerians were tired of maladministration.
He advised against any form of negative aspersions on the Governor and commended notable traditional rulers, leaders of thought, youths and several groups and individuals who reacted by condemning the recent attack on the governor.
Hon Yingi explained that although, there is freedom of speech as enshrined in the constitution of federal republic of Nigeria, but such freedom should not be used maliciously on fellow humans.
He prayed for continuous God’s guidance and direction for Dr Okowa and urged Nigerians to garner support for the People’s Democratic Party, PDP.
