Delta State Commissioner of Housing, Goodnews Angele has called for cooperation of management and staff of the ministry to enable him succeed in the task ahead.
Hon Angele made the call in his maiden meeting with management and staff of the Ministry at the Prof Chike Edozien State Secretariat Office Complex in Asaba.
The Housing Commissioner explained that his appointment was an act of God and promised to use the position to impact lives positively, emphasizing his willingness to succeed.
He said the era of leaving contractors to do as they please with projects awarded to their companies was over as he will always personally visit project sites to supervise and ensure standards.
Mr Angele stressed that he is open to learning and therefore solicited for maximum cooperation from the management and staff of the ministry in driving the MORE agenda of the state government.
In the area of provision of quality houses and other infrastructures to put public and private sectors in the state, the Housing Commissioner expressed optimism that the state government under the leadership of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori will do well in that regards.
Correspondent reports that the Permanent Secretary in the ministry, Pastor Emmanuel Aghedo, had briefed the commissioner on the main objective of the Ministry.
Pastor Aghedo amongst other things explained that the ministry of Housing was saddled with the responsibility to providing quality and housing infrastructures for government, workers and others residing in the State.
The Permanent Secretary assured the new Commissioner that he has competent staff that will help him achieve the set goals.
Highlights of the the meeting was presentation of hand over note by the Permanent Secretary to the Commissioner.
The commissioner later inspected the High Court Project under construction to ascertain the level of completion in readiness for its commissioning to mark the the 100 days in office of Sheriff Oborevwori’s administration.
