Nation Building: DELSU Mass Communication Class ‘98 Rejoices Over Elevation Of 5 Members

Class ‘98, Mass Communication Department, Faculty of Arts, Delta State University, Abraka, has felicitated with five of its members who were recently elevated into public offices.

They include, Hon Samuel Oligida, Commissioner for Trade and Investment, Delta State, Prof Emma Biri, Rector, Delta State Polytechnic, Otefe-Oghara, Mr Boniface Onyedi, Senior Special Assistant to the Rivers State Governor on Media and
Comrade Nkem Nwaeke, the freshly appointed Chief Press Secretary, CPS to the Speaker, Delta State House of Assembly.

The former students which pride themselves as “Indomitable Class” also congratulated another one of them, Comrade Churchill Oyowe, who was recently elected Chairman, Delta State Council of the Nigerian Union of Journalists, NUJ.

A statement by the Public Relations Officer, Indomitable Class of 98, Mass Communication Department, DELSU, Abraka, Mr Ebaretonbofa Tonwei Thompson, said “Indeed, Indomitable Class of ’98 is blessed to have you and others silently achieving greatly in their various endeavours”.

“At the appropriate time we will gather to celebrate you, our illustrious classmates for making us proud. But in the meantime, we will continue to rejoice over your achievements.

 

Continue Ebaretonbofa stated “Sam, Biri, Boniface, Nkem and Churchill are worthy ambassadors of the class. We are confident that they will do well in their respective offices and win more laurels for the Indomitable Class to the glory of God”.

The PRO, on behalf of the old students commended the Delta and Rivers States Governors, Sheriff Oborevwori and SIM Fabura respectively, and the Speaker of the Delta State Assembly, Emomotimi Guwor, for going for the best which he said, their members represent.

He also appreciated members of the Delta State Council of the NUJ for the choice of Churchill Oyowe to lead them as Chairman, in the next three years.

While praying God to grant the elevated colleagues the wherewithal to succeed, Ebaretonbofa however charged them to use their present positions to contribute to nation building, stressing that Nigeria needs selfless and committed leaders to drive prosperity in the land.
