Delta Govt. Assures Genuine Investors, Coorperative Societies of Safe Environment to Operate

Delta State Government has given the assurance that it is ready and committed to genuine investors and cooperative societies with clear vision to promote Small and Medium Scale Enterprises SMEs in the state.

The Commissioner for Trade and Investment, Hon. Samuel Oligida made the committed when he received in audience the members of Association of Community Newspaper Publishers of Nigeria ACNPN, at his office in Asaba, the state capital.

Oligida who maintained that he was committed in serving all Deltans explained that Trade and Investment ministry is the gate way to genuine investors in the state.

According to him; “it is my pleasure to welcome your decision to collaborate with my office because you cannot develop a state without connecting with the grassroots. That is the only way to showcase the achievements, policies and programmes of this administration.

“I am willing to render any assistance to you regarding how you can strengthen your cooperative society because that is the only way to enhance your human capital development. One thing is to get cooperative societies another thing is to strengthen it. Some people think getting cooperative society is the only way they can get their ‘national cake’ from the government.

“But I can assure you, the Oborevwore’s administration is committed to genuine investors and cooperative societies with the right vision in promoting SMEs. As a government we will always create the enabling environment that will make their businesses to thrives. We will work together.” He reiterated.

The Commissioner stressed that the Oborevwore’s administration has implemented every aspects of the MORE agenda since assumption of office even as he appealed to journalists in the state to always engage the state government in a constructive ways.

Earlier, Comrade Jude Obiemenyego, the state Chairman, ACNPN, explained that the association’s core mandate is to promote and coordinate the activities of its members in the interest of creating enabling environment, inform, educate and advocates for good governance at the grassroots level.

He commended the Commissioner for operating an open door policies assuring that the ACNPN will continue to partners with the ministry in publicising policies that will attract investors to the state.
