The Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly and Chairman, Conference of Speakers of State Legislatures in Nigeria, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Dennis Guwor, has called on the people of Oporoza Community and the entire Gbaramatu Kingdom to sustain their support for the administrations of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Rt Hon Guwor made the call on Monday at the commissioning of a modern market in Oporoza, the traditional headquarters of the ancient Gbaramatu Kingdom in Warri South West Local Government Area of Delta State.
Speaking outside the prepared speech delivered at the ceremony on behalf of the Governor, the Speaker said President Tinubu and Rt Hon Oborevwori administrations had demonstrated commitment to the development and wellbeing of the people of the Niger Delta, urging the people to reciprocate the gesture through continued political support.

Guwor particularly appealed to the people to vote for President Tinubu, Governor Oborevwori and all candidates of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the 2027 elections.
Speaking as a son of the soil, the Speaker declared that the people of Gbaramatu Kingdom would make their political position known through their votes, stressing that the kingdom has every reason to firmly mobilize đź’Ż support for the current administration at both federal and state levels.
“I am speaking as a son of the soil. Unequivocally, we will speak very loud. Not even one vote from Gbaramatu Kingdom will go to any other person. Mr. President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has been so gracious to our people”, Guwor said.
According to him, economic opportunities created in the Niger Delta region had positively impacted many residents, particularly through companies and initiatives operating in the area.
“You hardly can find any man or woman that is not benefiting in one way or the other from Tantita or Maton,” the Speaker stated.
Rt Hon Guwor further declared that the people of Gbaramatu Kingdom would support the President and all APC candidates across the board.
He also acknowledged the influence of traditional rulers and community leaders in shaping the political direction of the kingdom, expressing confidence that their leadership would continue to guide the people towards supporting the APC.
“Every vote from Gbaramatu Kingdom will go to Mr. President and all the candidates of APC across board. I strongly trust our women. I trust them that they are very strong. They will be ready, including our elders.
“When our chiefs say that this is the direction, and I know the direction of our chiefs, I already know it. That direction is to vote for Mr. President, to vote for all APC candidates, including our Governor”, he said.
The Speaker highlighted ongoing and proposed development projects in Oporoza and the wider Gbaramatu Kingdom, noting that the provision of infrastructure such as the newly commissioned modern market was an indication of the administration’s commitment to improving the living conditions and economic prospects of riverine communities.
He urged the people to continue to support Governor Oborevwori’s administration and work with the government to attract more development to the area.
Guwor said the modern market would not only improve commercial activities but also create opportunities for traders, enhance local economic activities and contribute to the overall transformation of Oporoza and neighbouring communities.
He assured the people that their support for the administration would be reciprocated through sustained attention to their developmental needs.
The commissioning of the market forms part of efforts to strengthen infrastructure and economic activities in Oporoza and promote sustainable development in the riverine communities of Delta State.
