Delta Assembly Celebrates Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala On WTO Appointment As DG

The Delta State House of Assembly, has congratulated Dr Ngozi Okonjo–Iweala on her appointment as the Director–general of the World Trade Organisation (WTO).

At plenary on Wednesday, February 17, 2021, the speaker, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori said that ; ”Dear Colleagues, it gives me great pleasure to seize this opportunity on behalf of the Delta State House of Assembly to congratulate our own illustrious daughter, Dr Ngozi Okonjo–Iweala, who made history by emerging the first African and the first female to be appointed as the Director–General of the World Trade Organisation (WTO)”.

“We are very proud of her and we congratulate her once again for putting Delta State on the world map. This victory is for all of us and has shown that we can triumph at the global stage by dedication and hard work. Once again, congratulations to Dr Ngozi Okonjo–Iweala for this great feat”.
