As Christians in Nigeria join their counterparts across the world to celebrate Easter amid jubilation and happiness, the Special Project Director of Asaba International Airport, Hon Austine Ayemidejor has called on the people of Sapele particularly and Delta State at large
to imbibe the spirit of love, devotion, tolerance, sacrifice and peaceful co-existence for one another, which Christ demonstrated throughout his period on earth.
The former Co-ordinator of Team Okowa Again Hon Austine Ayemidejor in his Easter message, said that the celebration of the resurrection of Christ which the season represents, should be a constant reminder for everyone to extend the virtues of love, devotion, tolerance and sacrifice.
He particularly urged Christians to use the season as a period to reflect on their individual and collective roles towards promoting and sustaining the foundation of love, devotion, tolerance, sacrifice, peace and harmony in the country.
“We must therefore see this period as a time that presents us the viable opportunity to think about how we can help to steer our nation back on the road to peace, stability and prosperity, by working in the spirit of togetherness because no country can make any meaningful progress in an atmosphere of rancor and chaos,” Ayemidejor said.
He said with the spirit of love and tolerance at the back of our mind, it was time for every Deltan, to unite together and eschew bitterness and religious lines for the sake of a more prosperous nation, adding that no challenge is insurmountable where unity of purpose thrives.
According to him, Delta State under His Excellency, Senator(Dr) Arthur Ifeanyi Okowa’s watch has become more united and prosperous than ever, saying that the Governor created an atmosphere of equity, fairness and justice where every religion is mutually respected
” The country we desire will only be a reality if all hands are on deck towards achieving a peaceful, united, strong, progressive and prosperous people. This is the time for us to avoid all divisive, parochial rivalries, and begin to live more harmoniously with one another, as Jesus Christ enjoined us to,” he said.
Ayemidejor also commended all Deltans for the sustained peaceful co-existence that the State has experienced under the able leadership of Governor Okowa.
As we celebrate Easter, I am extending my best wishes to Christian all over Nigeria, let us make sacrifices for those around us by assisting in anyway we can. It is significant to commemorate Christ’s death and resurrection as a reminder of His trait of love, devotion, tolerance, sacrifice, selflessness and peaceful coexistence among humanity he added.
