2023: Izeze Declares For DTHA

Promises To Uphold Collective Aspirations of Ughelli South People In Trust.

The Member Representing Ughelli South in the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon Reuben Izeze has declared interest to re contest the constituency seat, under the People’s Democratic Party, PDP in the 2023 general election.

Izeze said he was yielding to calls from his constituents who have been mounting pressure on him to recontest the 2023 Ughelli South House of Assembly seat on account of his impressive performance at the State Legislature.

The Lawmaker at a meeting with Executives of Jeremi Ward 2, held in Oginibo, Ughelli South local government area, stated that he is going back to the State Assembly to consolidate on his giant strides, adding that he will continually hold the collective aspirations of Ughelli South people in trust.

Hon Izeze solicited for the support of his Ward Executives, critical stakeholders and the people of Ughelli South to once again elect him to be their mouthpiece in the State Assembly.

He said “Today, I called you as leaders and as Ward Executives of our Party, to formally inform you that by the grace of God, as we move towards the PDP primaries which will be coming up in the end of April or May, I, your own, your son, your brother and friend from this ward, the present member representing you in the Delta State House of Assembly, that I shall be seeking your mandate and support to represent you further again in the same Delta State House of Assembly come 2023 and beyond.

“Let me say this very clearly, my aspiration is without prejudice to the right of every qualified person to seek election to represent you in Delta State House of Assembly. The legislature is very important to the development of any country or state because it is a place where laws are made for peace and good governance”.

Reflecting on his activities in the House, Izeze who is the Chairman, Assembly Committee on Lands, Survey and Urban Development, said experience counts and shall always strive to deliver the dividends of democracy to the people.

“When I was running for this office, i promised Ughelli South people Effective Representation and Robust Legislation. In collaboration with colleagues in the House of Assembly, I have sponsored bills political analysts and the media tagged “people based bills”. Again in synergy with other stakeholders, i have also attracted government patronages to our Constituency. Infrastructural development in Ughelli South at moment is unprecedented. The people have seen what I have done with their mandate and I want to continually hold the collective aspirations of constituents in trust”, the Comrade Lawmaker stated.

Continuing, he said “at this time of our political evolution, it is good to send your best to the legislature and I represents the best. Having been in the House since 2015, I have the experience which is needed at this level. Let continue to be your mouthpiece in the House.
For us, the time is now, the call is germane and the desire is to serve”.

While thanking the people for their immense support, Hon Izeze dispelled the rumour making the round that he is contesting for Governor or House of Representatives, saying that he never told anyone of such intentions, stressing “those who went to town in that regard did so without my consent or approval and should be disregarded”.

Responding, the Chairman Jeremi Ward 2, Mr. Onoriode Akpojiyovwi, commended Hon Izeze for his functional representation at the State Assembly, adding that he truly deserve the support of the people come 2023 to consolidate on his achievements as well as to do more for the constituency.

Other party members who spoke at the meeting, also paid glowing tributes to the Comrade Lawmaker for being a legislator with difference, adding that he have their support in his future aspiration.
