Be Alive To Core Mandate Of A Legislator, Guwor Charges WSW Councilors.

The Member Representing Warri South West in the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon Emomotimi Guwor has called for greater commitment to the growth and development of the constituency.

Hon Guwor gave the charge in his office in Asaba, when he played host to the leadership and members of the legislative arm of Warri South West local government council.

The Lawmaker urged the Councilors who were in the State Assembly to observe the plenary of the House as part of effort to enhancing their legislative assignment, to be alive to their core mandate as legislators.

He particularly reminded them of the need to enact people oriented bylaws for peace, good governance and development of Warri South West local government area.

Guwor who is the Chairman, House Committee on Desopadec, commended the Councilors for their decision to visit the state legislature to observe the plenary of the House in their quest to learn more on the nitty gritty of lawmaking.

Stressing that the legislature remains the fulcrum of democracy, the Lawmaker charged the visiting Councilors to reactivate the standing committees of the House and make them more functional as such would enhance development at the grassroot.

Hon Guwor also reminded the Warri South West Council Legislators that there is no end to learning and enjoined them to keep on improving on their primary assignment as lawmakers.

He promised to continue to provide quality representation to the constituency and constituents, even as he commended critical stakeholders for their support.

The Leader of the Warri Southwest legislative arm, Hon. Emiko Odin Etuwewe, in his remarks paid glowing tributes to Hon Emomotimi Guwor for his sterling leadership qualities, humility and pragmatic approach to democratic governance.

Disclosing that they were in Delta Assembly to observe plenary of the House as part of their capacity development, the Leader commended Hon Guwor for facilitating the visit as well as the audience granted to them by the Speaker, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori.

He said from the observed activities at the hallowed Chamber to the briefing of the Speaker in his office and then the meeting with their representative in the house, the visit to Asaba was worthwhile and promised to bring to bear the gains to their legislative assignment in Warri South West local government council.
