The Ugoani of Okpanam kingdom, HRM Dr. Michael Mbanefo Ogbolu has inaugurated the newly elected president, Comr. Lucky Okolo and other executives of Okpanam Youth Organisation with a charge for them to work together for the unity and development of the kingdom.
Dr. Ogbolu handed down the charge to the executives in his palace, Okpanam in Oshimili North Local Government Area of Delta State during the swearing-in / inauguration of the EXCO to pilot the affairs of youths in the area.
He described the election as peaceful, free , fair and credible, adding that 2022 Okpanam Youth Organisation election has proven to be a good template of how elections should be conducted as a result of the level playing field accorded to all the contestants.
The Okpanam monarch listed members of Okpanam Youth Organisation he inaugurated to include Comr. Lucky Okolo (President); Chukwudi Abumujor (Vice President) ; Fidelis Okonma (Secretary-General ) ; Betty Ikunor (Assistant General-Secretary) ; Igbekea Ikechukwu (Financial Secretary); Obiageli Nwabiankea (Treasurer) ; Nwaokolie Nkechi Gift (Organising Secretary) ; Umuna Rosemary (Provost ) ; Ogbechie Joseph Uche (PRO) and Oseha Afam (Welfare Officer).
Earlier in his acceptance speech, the newly sworn in President of Okpanam Youth Organisation, Comr. Lucky Okolo reassured the people of Okpanam of his commitments to the advancement of Okpanam youths and the kingdom in general.
Comr. Okolo, who said that his administration would operate open door policy and called on his opponents in the election to join hands with his team to take the community to enviable height, reiterated their resolve to harness the potentials of the people with great ideas and Innovations towards the upliftment of the community .
The Okpanam Youth President stressed the need for collective efforts towards transforming the community, stated that his administration would engage in programmes that could prevent youth violence or restiveness .
Comr. Okolo further stated that his administration would encourage partnership in youth development, empowerment/ skill acquisition and individual intervention programme, adding that Okpanam was blessed with people of proven track records, institutional and intellectual resources.
He commended Ugoani and the Electoral Committee for putting in place a level playing field for all contestants and the Secretary to the State Government (SSG ) , Chief Patrick Ukah for playing a zero interference role as promised in the election.
Comr. Okolo said that he would always embrace ideas that would strengthen peace and unity of Okpanam just as the executives while taking their oat of offiice pledged to discharge their duties effectively devoid of personal interest.
Highpoint of the swearing-in ceremony was the presentation of the certificate of return and Constitution of Okpanam Youth Organisation to the executives as well as oat of offiice by the executives.
